Such a pity that obscure but very philosophical Trinitarian doctrines of various versions agreed by various councils over the early centuries of church history have downplayed gospel truth such as the subjecting forever of the Son to the Father, the Father who is greater than the Son, and the truth that it is the Father who Jesus called the one true God. Yet Jesus promises those believing in him who hold to his teachings, irrespective of what councils agree, that these true disciples of him will know the truth and be set free from their sins by it, so they do not die in those sins. The grace by which they come to know this truth is not necessarily by human interpretations of scriptures, or sermons, or philosophical arguments, but can simply be when the Lord Jesus comes and stands at your side, or gives an encouragement or in spirit gives a hug. It can be a sudden burst of power from the Holy Spirit when candidly praying your heart-felt truth. It can be a miracle thought impossible for men, but possible for God. It can be a truly heavenly dream. It can be an act of mercy or inspired effective service from another believer. It all helps in the journey to understanding the commands of Jesus and the way to obey them, even in times of suffering. Philosophy is not the way of the gospel of Christ crucified. Rather the believing disciple comes to know the heavenly truth and light by grace which originates with God, not mere men: Grace in all its holy forms.
