The sayings of Jesus recorded by John, and teachings originating with Jesus recorded in John’s epistles, leave unsaid one clarification reserved for Paul. Jesus spoke to Jews, and these teachings left it possible for some to insist that the teachings only apply to Jews, whose keeping of the Law of Moses was an unstated given. It is never stated by Jesus that his teachings only applied to Jews knowing the Law of Moses. It is just not stated unambiguously by Jesus that Gentiles are also a target audience and that his gospel teachings and promises apply to them. Jesus therefore sent Paul to the Gentiles with a further clarifying revelation in the gospel especially relevant for Gentiles, and this clarification was that Gentiles believing in this gospel were not required to keep the Law of Moses. So now, if we look at say John chapter 8 teachings of Jesus that to believe in him and keep his teachings makes someone a true disciple who he promises to make free from sin, this is now known to apply even if you do not keep the Law of Moses and have not been circumcised into Judaism. So the promise of this gospel is there for Gentiles too. Paul taught that teaching another gospel to the one he received from Jesus by revelation results in being accursed. Only this revealed version of the gospel is blessed. His message went into an analysis of the same teachings given by Jesus recorded in the gospels including John’s, but clarifies that it is for Gentiles too, who are also to be blessed by it, without a requirement to convert to being Jews or being required to keep the Law of Moses. Paul was chosen to bear this clarified gospel message to Gentiles. The teachings of the other apostles do not contradict this.
