Baptism

Baptism is like joining a university. If you join a university and you say you “are concerned about the name the university has” you mean is it on a par with Harvard or Princeton or Oxford; you do not mean what name it is called - if you got in to a top university you would not care much if it changed its name - but if it dropped fifty places in the world rankings and was found to be fraudulently selling degrees on the black market then you would certainly care. Baptism is not about what words are used but about the ratings and reputation into which you are being baptised - and to which it will make you attached as a disciple.

In the Now

If you believe the Son of Man is there right now to save you, always now, never not there, you surely have to apply that forwards to every future now. If every future now - yesterday and today and forever - then every past now too. Even Abraham’s many nows. Noah’s hundreds of years of nows. Every now Enoch had and has. Every one of these nows is a now when the Son of Man is there to save.

Ubara-Tutu

UBARA-TUTU

Quote from Wikipedia:

“The Sumerian King List mentions a character named Ubara-Tutu who seems almost identical to Methuselah. He was the son of En-men-dur-ana the Sumerian Enoch, and king of Sumer until the flood swept over the land. The Sumerian King List is a document of kings of Sumer before and after the Flood and several extant (original cuneiform tablets from the Sumerian times) texts of such lists have been found.

Ubara-Tutu is also mentioned in the very old extant text from before the Flood found by archaeologists in sites of Sumer - ‘The Instructions of Sharappak’ which also mentions that his grandson was Ziusudra, Sumerian Noah. This fully identifies Ubara-Tutu as the grandfather of Noah, Methuselah. It further supports that Enmendurana is Enoch the father of Methuselah. In the Book of Enoch all three are given as its co-authors. It also verifies the true time when the Book of Enoch was originally authored and ties it historically to the time when the Instructions of Sharappak was written, before during the Fara Period, before the Flood, possibly completed before 2800 BC.

Why the Cross?

WHY THE CROSS?

God wanted to make a perfect sacrifice for the sins of those He loves (you). The cross symbolises that the Lamb is the Lamb of God. The ancient symbol for God started as a star but after a thousand years it became a cuneiform cross.

Jesus Today

It is very similar to our bodies but it never dies. If you were to put your hand on Him it would be like puttng a hand on anyone else - any human. If His hand was laid on you it would be like anybody’s hand placed on you. Yet His coming will be like lightning from one end of the sky to the other such that everyone sees Him at once. He can have spiritual presence just as He can have physical presence. We too can be like this a bit so it is not completely unimaginable. We are currently commnicating simultaneously around the world yet we are sitting in a room maybe. We can do spiritual things too like having simultaneously imspired thoughts in distant places such that our distance apart is irrelevant and our existence is more the main thing and our being in the spirit at the same time can be all important to what happens between us yet we are humans in physical bodies too. When He chooses to He can affect us physically or spiritually or mentally without leaving Heaven. He can exist in Heaven out of reach of humans like us along with angels and like an angel. His faith can work a miracle where we walk down a steet as if He were in the clouds above our heads without leaving the Father’s side.

Who is the Son of Man?

Who is the Son of Man? Many would answer “Jesus” but what does saying it is Jesus say about Jesus? Here are two answers given in the Book of Enoch.

Enoch 71:

...

'This is the Son of Man who is born unto righteousness;

And righteousness abides over him,

And the righteousness of the Head of Days forsakes him not.'

And he said unto me:

'He proclaims unto thee peace in the name of the world to come;

For from hence has proceeded peace since the creation of the world,

And so shall it be unto thee for ever and for ever and ever.

And all shall walk in his ways since righteousness never forsaketh him:

With him will be their dwelling-places, and with him their heritage,

And they shall not be separated from him for ever and ever and ever.

And so there shall be length of days with that Son of Man,

And the righteous shall have peace and an upright way

In the name of the Lord of Spirits for ever and ever.'

Enoch 46:

...

This is the son of Man who hath righteousness,

With whom dwelleth righteousness,

And who revealeth all the treasures of that which is hidden,

Because the Lord of Spirits hath chosen him,

And whose lot hath the pre-eminence before the Lord of Spirits in uprightness for ever.

And this Son of Man whom thou hast seen

Shall †raise up† the kings and the mighty from their seats,

[And the strong from their thrones]

And shall loosen the reins of the strong,

And break the teeth of the sinners.

[And he shall put down the kings from their thrones and kingdoms]

Because they do not extol and praise Him,

Nor humbly acknowledge whence the kingdom was bestowed upon them.

And he shall put down the countenance of the strong,

And shall fill them with shame.

And darkness shall be their dwelling,

And worms shall be their bed,

And they shall have no hope of rising from their beds,

Because they do not extol the name of the Lord of Spirits.

And these are they who †judge† the stars of heaven,

[And raise their hands against the Most High],

†And tread upon the earth and dwell upon it†.

And all their deeds manifest unrighteousness,

And their power rests upon their riches, 

And their faith is in the †gods† which they have made with their hands,

And they deny the name of the Lord of Spirits,

And they persecute the houses of His congregations,

And the faithful who hang upon the name of the Lord of Spirits.

Drugs and Chemistry

The Book of Enoch shows how chemistry and drug production and trade have a main wicked purpose of extending human abilities to give humans ungodly power to harness nature without the need for faith and collaboration with God. These ideaologies are still the bedrock of modern science. Three hundred years ago attempts were made starting with King James and others to eradicate witchcraft in the western world and witch hunts and witch trials frightened scientists into hiding the supernatural aspects of science and all of their links to witchcraft but really the sorceries that developed into modern sciences with the ungodly purposes of extending human capabilities without involving God and faith in God are all there still in science but hushed up. The outcomes are abortions and other mass exterminations and modern conveniences with which the world today is riddled.

Heavenly Places

HEAVENLY PLACES

Book of Enoch refers to the place where angels and God and the Son of Man dwell and have the throne of God they refer to a place where fire is underfoot and between the crystals of the walls and flows as a river of fire. The descriptions match caverns such as the Cave of Crystals in Mexico https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave_of_the_Crystals but before the magma disappeared and so the mountain in question must have such caverns within it. These Cave of Crystals magma chambers were not at all accessible from outside until mining shafts were accidentally drilled into them. There must be many such caverns in many moumtains aroond the world. The descriptions in the Book of Enoch would be entirely consistent with some such caverns. These places originally huge chambers full of water and become lined with extremely large crystals which are thought to form on the walls and floor and ceiling as water seeps into the chamber bring into it sulphur and when magma heats the water the sulphur and other minerals are concentrated next to the chamber surfaces. If the heat of the magma drives away the water completely through gaps in the rocky walls the huge chamber lined with crystals and magma. These chambers are potentially extremely hot and potentially very humid because they are heated by the magma and there is no way for the heat to escape. The magma might flow around the floor too. Enoch described the pair of two chambers linked by a portal and these chambers were very both hot very cold and lined with crystals mingled with fire and with a river of fire and the crystal throne of God there in the middle and a huge expanse above it. In one of the crystal chambers he saw God and cherubim and other kinds of angels and that the archangels the Son of Man entered it. 

The Book of Enoch has two passages about these places - in the R H Charles translation they are chapters 14 and 71. 

Book of Enoch chapter 14: 

9. And I went in till I drew nigh to a wall which is built of crystals and surrounded by tongues of fire: and it began to affright me. And I went into the tongues of fire and drew nigh to a large house which was built of crystals: and the walls of the house were like a tesselated floor (made) of crystals, and its groundwork was of crystal. 11. Its ceiling was like the path of the stars and the lightnings, and between them were fiery cherubim, and their heaven was (clear as) water. 12. A flaming fire surrounded the walls, and its portals blazed with fire. 13. And I entered into that house, and it was hot as fire and cold as ice: there were no delights of life therein: fear covered me, and trembling got hold upon me. 14. And as I quaked and trembled, I fell upon my face. 15. And I beheld a vision, And lo! there was a second house, greater than the former, 

and the entire portal stood open before me, and it was built of flames of fire. 16. And in every respect it so excelled in splendour and magnificence and extent that I cannot describe to you its splendour and its extent. 17. And its floor was of fire, and above it were lightnings and the path of the stars, and its ceiling also was flaming fire. 18. And I looked and saw ⌈⌈therein⌉⌉ a lofty throne: its appearance was as crystal, and the wheels thereof as the shining sun, and there was the vision of cherubim. 19. And from underneath the throne came streams of flaming fire so that I could not look thereon. 20. And the Great Glory sat thereon, and His raiment shone more brightly than the sun and was whiter than any snow. 21. None of the angels could enter and could behold His face by reason of the magnificence and glory and no flesh could behold Him. 22. The flaming fire was round about Him, and a great fire stood before Him, and none around could draw nigh Him: ten thousand times ten thousand (stood) before Him, yet He needed no counselor. 23. And the most holy ones who were nigh to Him did not leave by night nor depart from Him. 

The Book of Enoch chapter 71: 

1. And it came to pass after this that my spirit was translated

And it ascended into the heavens:

And I saw the holy sons of God.

They were stepping on flames of fire:

Their garments were white [and their raiment],

And their faces shone like snow.

2. And I saw two streams of fire,

And the light of that fire shone like hyacinth,

And I fell on my face before the Lord of Spirits.

3. And the angel Michael [one of the archangels] seized me by my right hand,

And lifted me up and led me forth into all the secrets,

And he showed me all the secrets of righteousness.

4. And he showed me all the secrets of the ends of the heaven,

And all the chambers of all the stars, and all the luminaries,

Whence they proceed before the face of the holy ones.

5. And he translated my spirit into the heaven of heavens,

And I saw there as it were a structure built of crystals,

And between those crystals tongues of living fire.

6. And my spirit saw the girdle which girt that house of fire,

And on its four sides were streams full of living fire,

And they girt that house.

7. And round about were Seraphin, Cherubic, and Ophannin:

And these are they who sleep not

And guard the throne of His glory.

8. And I saw angels who could not be counted,

A thousand thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand,

Encircling that house.

The Ultimate Hope

ENOCH WAS GIVEN A SIGHT OF THE ULTIMATE HOPE. 

The hope there in the Book of Enoch is that finally there will at the end when the Judgement takes place and afterwards some who are pleasing to God, clean and gathered to where they can worship God and dwell with Him and He with them forever. I notice they are not all depicted as sheep in Enoch’s great vision dream. Among the clean and fully sighted sheep are some Gentiles too - depicted as birds and other beasts. So Enoch forsaw not only Jews but Gentiles made righteous and pleasing to God before the Judgement.

Book of Enoch 90:31b-36 “... they took me up and set me down in the midst of those sheep before the judgement took place†. 32. And those sheep were all white, and their wool was abundant and clean. 33. And all that had been destroyed and dispersed, and all the beasts of the field, and all the birds of the heaven, assembled in that house, and the Lord of the sheep rejoiced with great joy because they were all good and had returned to His house. 34. And I saw till they laid down that sword, which had been given to the sheep, and they brought it back into the house, and it was sealed before the presence of the Lord, and all the sheep were invited into that house, but it held them not. 35. And the eyes of them all were opened, and they saw the good, and there was not one among them that did not see. 36. And I saw that that house was large and broad and very full.”

That is why we need the Son of Man. The Son of Man washes clean the sheep and birds and other beasts and opens their eyes - all those who believe in Him and hold to His teachings.

Violence Incurs Destructions From God

COMING DESTRUCTIONS MEAN QUIT THE VIOLENCE

The message of the Book of Enoch focuses a lot on coming preordained Judgements - first the Flood then apocalypse then the final Judgement. The main conclusion of Enoch about all this is recorded in chapter 91 recording the words he passed on to his own family which can be summed up “violence is wicked so quit it because it brings judgement from God”.

Book of Enoch 91:

'Hear, ye sons of Enoch, all the words of your father,

And hearken aright to the voice of my mouth;

For I exhort you and say unto you, beloved:

Love uprightness and walk therein.

4. And draw not nigh to uprightness with a double heart,

And associate not with those of a double heart,

But walk in righteousness, my sons.

And it shall guide you on good paths,

And righteousness shall be your companion.

5. For I know that violence must increase on the earth,

And a great chastisement be executed on the earth,

And all unrighteousness come to an end:

Yea, it shall be cut off from its roots,

And its whole structure be destroyed.

6. And unrighteousness shall again be consummated on the earth,

And all the deeds of unrighteousness and of violence

And transgression shall prevail in a twofold degree.

7. And when sin and unrighteousness and blasphemy

And violence in all kinds of deeds increase,

And apostasy and transgression and uncleanness increase, 

A great chastisement shall come from heaven upon all these,

And the holy Lord will come forth with wrath and chastisement

To execute judgement on earth.

8. In those days violence shall be cut off from its roots,

And the roots of unrighteousness together with deceit,

And they shall be destroyed from under heaven.

Earliest Scriptures About God

There is evidence that what is translated from the Book of Enoch as “Lord of Spirits” (and probably became Hebrew Lord of Hosts) was originally EN.LIL as with this reference which says LIL was Sumerian for spirit, phantom: http://oracc.museum.upenn.edu/amgg/listofdeities/enlil/. EN was Sumerian for Lord. So Enlil can be translated “Lord of Spirit” or “Lord Spirit” or “Lord of Spirits”. So it is very likely that the English translations for Enoch’s main two ways of refering to God - “God” and “the Lord of Spirits” - correspond almost exactly with the two ways Sumerian early writings referred to God: “An” (God) and “EN.LIL” (Lord of Spirit(s) or Lord Spirit(s)). Then too there are the characteristics Sumerians ascribed to Enlil which perfectly match those ascribed in the Book of Enoch to the Lord of Spirits (English translation). The generic meaning of An (also pronounced Dengir) was simply “god”. To show that by EN.LIL they meant God of that name they would prefix EN.LIL with the AN (god) symbol. They did so with angel names too. Eventually in semitic languages the AN symbol was pronounced El so this might also be how angels all came to have “el” as part of their names. 

How I Regard Christ

I don’t like the old Christian orthodoxy love of greek philosophical terms and inventions like “hypostatic union” used to explain the old traditional views about Christ which seem to me to muddy the waters of what is understood about Him.

Metaphor - say He is a heavenly police officer before being made flesh - chief of police would be a good metaphor - but heavenly police officers can include flesh and blood humans - so when He becomes flesh He might seem more lowly and He is fully flesh - yet still He is a police officer and really He retains that chief of police position and right yet He is a baby then a child the an adult and still a police officer and chief by rights - then He dies - and yet the chief title is not taken away because God raises Him and sets Him at the top rank in Heaven and He still keeps His position as chief of police.

I’m not saying He is chief of police but it is a metaphor - I just want to show that being in a position of authority and dignity and a kind of judge and governor does not mean you cannot change from heavenly being to human flesh while retaining that position - you do not need a greek philosophy tool like hypostatic whatever to understand Him - there was no two substances fighting it out - flesh and god like Greek philosophy made fashionable - this is just a matter of dignity and power throughout a move from heavenly being to flesh - then death and resurrection - but God maintaining for Him that status God had given Him since the beginning that He will have forever.

My Break from Trinitarianism

I was raised in a trinitarian baptist church to take my father and grandfather’s places as pastors and missionary. I went to a non-denominational Bible College and trained to be a missionary but while there I read Paul’s instruction to copy him in working secularly for a living so I changed path and had to go against my church and family and look for a secular job and then career. Those were the late 1980s. Yet in the mid-1990s God gave me the Holy Spirit and in a vision later confirmed threefold He told me to do the kind of thing I’m doing. Still I was following trinitarian teachings as best I could so I asked for ability to preach with knowledge by God to show Himself to me - Father and Son and Holy Spirit - ensuring first I was fully obeying Christ and them invoking the John 14 promise. The Father first came to me in a dream and said “I am God” and what would happen the next day and what to do. It was just as He said. Then Jesus came to me and spoke to me and performed a miracle of great meaning and power and showed me He is truly and absolutely Lord. Then the Holy Spirit gave me the gift of interpretation of tongues and gave me these words “Consider the trees how they put forth buds and leaves - they do so by the authority (power) of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ” (which is how I discerned the true inspiration by Him of the Book of Enoch as many here might know). Then the word of God said to me (actually when I was having a bath which I think is intended as a sign) “Israel has sinned” and wars were at the gate with the eagle overhead and I said in prophecy by the Spirit in me “Go shout from a high mountain “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your strength and all your mind” and as I was saying “mind” my Spirit shouted “and all your VOICE”. The sign was given certainly that day of eagle overhead and within a few years I was allowed to go to a high mountain - working with UN and world governments on internet technology - and I started using it to preach. Then in preaching I was persuaded that it is indeed the Father who is God and the Son who is Lord just as they had shown me - and both were there before all things existed.

The Pressure God is Under

God is under pressure from humans and angels to get rid of horrendous behaviour that escalates to outrageous levels. Torture of the innocent to lethal unthinkable levels leads us to scream out for justice and God cannot ignore that. So when God says time is up on such things there is nothing to do except to destroy those responsible - which might mean me and you if we persist in certain kinds of behaviour. Christ is an answer for some who can be persuaded to love God and listen enough to Jesus to pick up the message and stop those kinds of behaviour. But most hate God and ignore Jesus or distort His teachings. Even 'Christians' and 'Messianics' and 'Muslims' do - many do. This was foretold long ago. But it is not enough to simply stop doing those things if we might go back to it in the distant future. God wants to make permanent saints who will never need destroying ever. This is only possible through the Christ, the Son of Man who has always done right and has proven He always will. He can make people stay like this. His great sacrifice makes it possible to go this way.

The Middle East

Adam was created in the Middle East and the Garden of Eden was there. Much has been based by God there. The first cities were built there. Methuselah and Noah lived there. The Flood started there and spread out. The first city settlements after the Flood were established there and the world was ruled again from there. The Tower of Babel was frustrated by God there and people spread out from there. The life of Abraham was lived there and ended in Canaan. The Law was given in the Middle East on a mountain there onto which God physically descended and was visible from behind to Moses there. The people of Israel lived there a thousand years and even when scattered they still were mainly in the Middle East. The portion of the people of Israel returned and built a second temple there. The persecutions by Greek oppressors were carried out there and the need for a saving Messiah was primarily there in and near Jerusalem. The wise magi knew to look there for this Messiah born king of the Jews having travelled there from elsewhere east in the Middle East. The city of Jerusalem is the city God loves and which God will ultimately defend from Satan and all the world rulers just before the Judgement when the lake of fire Gehenna will open there beside Jerusalem to take the billions consigned there by God and a new Jerusalem will “descend” there from Heaven to be established for saints forever.

John 1:1 for non-trinitarians

How to translate John 1:1 if you are not trinitarian? “And the Word was God” Essentially the question is really two questions. How to translate it. And what did the Spirit inspiring John to write this actually mean. It might be best to get the second answered before attempting the first. The second as to what the Spirit is saying: I have no problem with it being a description of the Word as being God, just not Almighty God (who is the Father). I have no problem saying the Word pre-incarnate awesome Son of Man higher than angels but similar to what He would become when He became human flesh lower than angels - saying this Word was awesome enough for it to be true to say He was God - a mirror image of the Father. So the question for me to understand before answering how to translate it is why others maybe have a problem with this. I guess attempts to be always monotheistic in every way as top concern is the problem. But noble as that concern might be in the light of God’s commands it cannot prevent truth being stated about the Word and it did not prevent John stating it as the Holy Spirit led him. Admitedly another concern is it makes it harder to remonstrate with trinitarians. But for the sake of truth about the Word being stated we have to bite that bullet. The Word in the beginning was God. (Not the Almighty God). Higher than all angels. Then the Word became flesh. The only sense He remained divine on becoming flesh and lower than angels is that He is still a god because He is highest judge under God Almighty. John 10. So what the Holy Spirit through John gives us (in chapter 1 then chapter 10) is a subtle but important change in how the Word in the beginning was God and how the Word made flesh is a god. Both are stated truthfully so we will see what happened as the Word became flesh.

The Curse is Finished

“... And for all of you sinners there shall be no salvation,

But on you all shall abide a curse. ...”

Book of Enoch 5:6 

There is a curse for the sinners. So prophecy foretold. Now we know that the curse we were cursed with turns to blessing for us because it was the bruising of the Son of Man Himself which is our curse. And it produces life in us. The love of God turned it around, that cross of Christ. Now Christ stands joyful at the success of God’s work through Him. The curse is complete and finished.

What are Father and Son and Spirit doing today?

We are in a time when the preparations are being made for the Son to come 

“See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.“

There are tests going on and the Father gives disciples tests to see whether their hearts are yet righteous. Will they behave as God wills in a situation where someone needs saving from some distress or will they find fault. They might pass this test, perhaps to their own surprise. Then comes the peace. The Son is seeking and reaching out to those who pass the test. He is reaching out to those who reach out to Him and even to those who do not know to reach out. He is seeking them like a shepherd seeking every last sheep. He is reaching out to make peace with them and to show them mercy even while He is trampling the winepress of the wrath of God with clothes stained in blood of the wicked. He makes Himself known to them. The Holy Spirit is comforting them to show them the full power the Son has over all creation and this Son who will use this power against the wicked in the wrath of God will use the power He has and the love Almighty God has for Him to show mercy to those who are truly His who have progressed in righteousness to pass God’s tests.

Can someone be saved but still be a child of Satan?

I was surprised at first understanding the preaching of Jesus recorded in John 8 (and reiterated by John in his epistles) that a person who keeps commiting serious sins like lying is, according to the truth that is in Jesus, still really a child of Satan and not a child of God. OK, now some are shocked and are starting to write vitriolic responses and anathemise me but just read it and see. Anyway, here is the thing: this is what Jesus was addressing not to unbelievers but to those who it says believed His preaching about Himself - those who believed He is the Son of Man and believed He existed from ancient times before He became flesh. Yet to these, who some today would say were “saved” (because they believed), to these Jesus said they were haters of Him intent on killing Him (which proved true not much later after He said it) and were liars and so were effectively not children of Abraham or of God but children of Satan. So were they “saved”? Or does being saved require that they change their ways? The unbelievers had already been told by Jesus that they would die in their sins because they did not believe Him about being the Christ, the Son of Man, existing before Abraham was born. So they were unlikely to be saved. Yet to be saved did not Jesus tell the believers that they had first to hold to His teachings in order to be set free from sin. It was more than belief in His words but faithfully holding to His words and being set free by truth that is what would save them from dying in their sins and facing the Judgement still sinners.

Reading the rest of the teachings of Jesus in John’s gospel the sonship thing is linked to rebirth and so it means less about what you are like and more about WHO made you that way. So the people who lie (many of us from childhood until we perhaps are changed) are that way because, Jesus says, they are made that way by the father of lies and liars, Satan. Satan’s influence, Jesus teaches, is the main cause of people becoming liars (and haters and murderers). So the way Jesus describes sonship is something a father causes to be in someone’s nature to do. So to be a child of God takes a work of God, which Jesus says can be through Him, through Jesus the true Son of God.

And who is this Satan? We just have to accept that Jesus knows who Satan is and what he does. If you want to know more what Jesus’ audience understood which clarifies this message of Jesus we know from Dead Sea Scrolls the very influential sacred writings related to Satan were the Book of Jubilees and Book of Enoch which mention an angel who matches the Satan picture and were the two most prevalent books in the Dead Sea Scrolls. Jubilees calls the antagonist angel Mastema. Enoch calls Satan by that name (although probably in the passages not represented in the Dead Sea Scroll fragments). The other best source is the Book of Job. To summarise all these sources about Satan they all describe an antagonistic angel - antagonistic towards God Himself. This angel is important enough to meet with God alongside the topmost angels - archangel ‘sons of God’. The uses God makes of angels are not always suitable for faithful righteous archangels and sometimes God uses the antagonistic angels for certain purposes such as testing people for either wickedness and righteousness and sometimes for punishing those proven to be wicked. Later in Revelation as well as in a parallel passage in Enoch the top antagonist angel Satan is put to use to mislead the world leaders after the reign of Christ into waging war on God. The very fact they follow this antagonist against God proves their wickedness such that they are punished by their defeat in this final war.

Saying “God is IN the Father” is a false teaching

Saying “God is IN the Father” is a false teaching. God IS the Father. The Father IS God. God is IN the Son and the Son is IN the Father. And the saints are IN the Son and the Son is IN the saints.

The Son of Man in Heaven long before His Birth

The Book of Enoch chapter 70: 

“1. And it came to pass after this that his name during his lifetime was raised aloft to that Son of Man and to the Lord of Spirits from amongst those who dwell on the earth. 2. And he was raised aloft on the chariots of the spirit and his name vanished among them. 3. And from that day I was no longer numbered amongst them: and he set me between the two winds, between the North and the West, where the angels took the cords to measure for me the place for the elect and righteous. 4. And there I saw the first fathers and the righteous who from the beginning dwell in that place.”

Some would teach that the Son of Man did not exist until He was conceived anf then born in Bethlehem. Enoch prophesied much about Him and his prophesies were well regarded among the first believers and more broadly too among many of the Jews of that time. Some would say Enoch merely foresaw in visions this Son of Man and the Son of Man, they would say, did not exist in Enoch’s time, long before Abraham was born. Yet here in the Book of Enoch is a record of Enoch being taken up into Heaven “to that Son of Man”. So clearly the Son of Man taught of by Enoch and much prophesied about by Enoch was there in Heaven when Enoch was famously taken up into Heaven thousands of years before the Son of Man was born.
