 Jesus: Anointed by the Father

More and more, Jesus was anointed by the Father who sent Him. From the cradle to the throne, His life traces a divine journey of purpose and power. Born in humble beginnings, He grew into the fullness of His calling, walking among men, women, and children in holy ministry—healing, teaching, and revealing the heart of the Father, the God who anointed Him with the Holy Spirit for this sacred work.

His path led to the cross, where love bore its deepest cost, and to the tomb, where the wrath of God was turned aside. He died for you.

Through His resurrection, He triumphed over decay, receiving an anointing from God—not of oil, but of surpassing joy. He then ascended to reign forever: the Anointed One exalted at the right hand of the Father, until the day when all His enemies are placed beneath His feet. Yet the story does not end there. The ultimate fulfillment of His mission continues to unfold, for His promise extends to all who believe.

One day, the Son Himself will be subject to the Father forever, so that God may be all in all. Then, finally, the Father will share that ultimate throne with His Son eternally. And all who overcome with Jesus—those who share in His victory—will also share in His throne. The anointing of joy will reach its perfect fulfillment.

The Anointed One died for you—and now the same anointing that rested upon Him flows to His followers, marking them as chosen, empowered, and beloved.

It was for all of this that Jesus came. Yet above all, He came to bring many to God—purified from their sins and made holy, so that they might share fellowship as spiritual members of Jesus, the Anointed One. His purpose is to save those who follow Him from their sins, so that their actions may no longer be enslaved by sin, and thus they are no longer condemned.

This promise belongs to all who believe in Him and hold to His teachings—those who learn from the truth and spirit of His words, and from the grace and power of the Holy Spirit, given by the Father in His name.

Under the Law of Moses, the driving force toward obedience was fear—the fear of condemnation for failing to keep the whole Law. But in the grace and truth of Jesus, there is no longer a driver of fear. The compelling force the promise of freedom from sin’s enslavement, and love towards the Father and the Son. Where this promise dwells, there also abides  hope of eternal life in Him.
