The truth gets twisted by many, but the real truth remains, though greatly obscured by the twisted version. The power of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is at work to strengthen and underpin all the workings of Nature, in processes such as the budding of trees, and the paths of planets, and in this respect it is an agency of the Creator, of God Himself. If we say Jesus is God, however, we are prone to twisting of this saying by the unscrupulous or naive, but the truth is close to this. An analogy: Look at the electricity coming from a socket in your house. That is driven by a power station. It is the power station energy coming from that socket when something is plugged into it and turned on. To say of the electricity in the utility plugged into the socket that it IS the power station, this is in some sense true, but there is a way to take it too literally, so we do not tend to say it unless it is in a context where it would be correctly understood what we mean. The electricity is in continuity with the power station, or power stations of the grid. The powering of the electrical item is an agency of the power station. The socket is working together with the power station. With Jesus, it is his name which is working as an agency of the Father, the Creator, as it underpins all the workings of Nature. This could be worded in a way which could be twisted, such as in saying Jesus is divine, or saying Jesus is God. The misunderstanding of such a statement would hide the sublime and vital truth that Jesus is, by the power of his name, being given agency by the Father to underpin Nature, and in this he is working together with the Father in the work of creation. Jesus is therefore divine. But it is a divinity given him constantly by the Father. It is the Father who is truly God.
