Whose Children are we? God's or Satan's?

The Son of Man taught that we are born of Satan because we are born liars and we must be reborn so we are born of God with the whole spirit part of us being from God-given Spirit and God-given spirit-words. John 3, John 4, John 8. That this Son of Man exists is amazing and yet real so being amazingly reborn can be real too even though the thought of it is amazing.

I hate relying on what the preachers and teachers say - my motto is to understand it from the best source (I tend to stick with the gospel of John).

To make it easy to check it for yourselves here is a chunk of the Gospel of John chapter 8

9At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11“No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,”Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

12When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

13The Pharisees challenged him, “Here you are, appearing as your own witness; your testimony is not valid.”

14Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going. 15You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one. 16But if I do judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me. 17In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is true. 18I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father, who sent me.”

19Then they asked him, “Where is your father?”

“You do not know me or my Father,” Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” 20He spoke these words while teaching in the temple courts near the place where the offerings were put. Yet no one seized him, because his hour had not yet come.

21Once more Jesus said to them, “I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come.”

22This made the Jews ask, “Will he kill himself? Is that why he says, ‘Where I go, you cannot come’?”

23But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”

25“Who are you?” they asked.

“Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied. 26“I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world.”

27They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father. 28So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. 29The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” 30Even as he spoke, many believed in him.

31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

33They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”

34Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. 37I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word. 38I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father. ”

39“Abraham is our father,” they answered.

“If you were Abraham’s children,” said Jesus, “then you wouldc do what Abraham did. 40As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. 41You are doing the works of your own father.”

“We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.”

42Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. 43Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”



Years later John who recorded those words of Jesus would go on to teach things that showed He took to heart and understood what Jesus was saying

In First Epistle of John he wrote (chapter 3):

4Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. 5But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. 6No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

7Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

Be Born Again

Jude knew his brother Jesus believed and loved the Book of Enoch

People who are ignorant and unbelieving regarding the Book of Enoch believe in a circular argument (a trick of the uninspired mind) that goes: it is not canonical because it is not scripture and it is not scripture because it is not canonical. How foolish. Jesus cuts through all that by knowing it is true scripture and not just teaching what it teaches but supporting His biological brother in his teaching of it in the epistle Jude was given by Jesus' authority to write. The truth Jesus brought into this world inspired those like Jude who know Him very closely and knew that He believed the veracity of the Book of Enoch such that Jude knew it would be OK with Jesus for him to verify the Book of Enoch in his epistle. If Jude included it then he must have known Jesus believed in it and He knew Jesus first as biological brother then as disciple of the Teacher.

Be Set Free by Truth

There is plenty of truth in the Book of Enoch; this kind of truth as spoken of by the Son of Man:
(John 8:31-32) 'To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
It is the sort of truth that leads a true disciple to make cultural changes in their life along with a change to more righteous behaviour. All kinds of truth about existing social culture and how it got to be like it is in the world which makes us revolt at the fallen angel teachings and want to be less driven by such things and want to take on the kind of culture God intended as we put aside the evils of the world such as lies and murderousness.

The Holy Great One seen by Enoch

Just as John in Revelation tells (by his faith and the Holy Spirit) that the man (Son of Man) seen by Daniel (Daniel 10) is Jesus (before He was incarnated), so too Jude tells (by his faith and the Holy Spirit) that the Holy Great One seen by Enoch (Enoch chapter 1) is Jesus. Some pour doubt on passages in the Book of Enoch about the Son of Man because these passages are said not to be found among the Dead Sea Scrolls fragments of the Book of Enoch. However Jude uses chapter 1 and clarifies from it that the Great One seen by Enoch is this Holy Great One who will come in the clouds at the end time (much like God Himself descended on Sinai): Jesus, the Lord.

Enoch 1
1. The words of the blessing of Enoch, wherewith he blessed the elect and  righteous, who will be living in the day of tribulation, when all the wicked and godless are to be removed. 2. And he took up his parable and said--Enoch a righteous man, whose eyes were opened by God, saw the vision of the Holy One in the heavens, which the angels showed me, and from them I heard everything, and from them I understood as I saw, but not for this generation, but for a remote one which is for to come. 3. Concerning the elect I said, and took up my parable concerning them:

The Holy Great One will come forth from His dwelling,
4. And the eternal God will tread upon the earth, (even) on Mount Sinai,
And appear from His camp
And appear in the strength of His might from the heaven of heavens.

5. And all shall be smitten with fear
And the Watchers shall quake,
And great fear and trembling shall seize them unto the ends of the earth.

6. And the high mountains shall be shaken,
And the high hills shall be made low,
And shall melt like wax before the flame

7. And the earth shall be wholly rent in sunder,
And all that is upon the earth shall perish,
And there shall be a judgement upon all (men).

8. But with the righteous He will make peace.

And will protect the elect,
And mercy shall be upon them.

And they shall all belong to God,
And they shall be prospered,
And they shall all be blessed.

And He will help them all,
And light shall appear unto them,
And He will make peace with them.

9. And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones
To execute judgement upon all,
And to destroy all the ungodly:

And to convict all flesh
Of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed,
And of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.

Daniel 10

If you look at Daniel 10 you see there is a man who talks with Daniel and puts a hand on his shoulder and tells him mysteries about the plans of God. Some teach this is Gabriel and some that it is another archangel. If you look at Revelation 1 you see it is the Son of Man written about in the Book of Enoch. You see His name. If you encounter Him today you see He is just the same except now He has died (crucified) and has risen. 

We are told

We are told by the Son of Man to stop doing what causes shame - and that means not just feeling guilt and shame but changing our behaviour on an ongoing basis - once and for good - and making our normal behaviour good - so if we slip occasionally we revert to good quickly - which means we make truthful speech our normal first language and lies become a foreign language to us - and drug use and drug work is foreign to us - and adulterous behaviour and other such immorality is alien to us - and hatred is not our normal mode of operation at all so if we get angry it lasts but an hour or so then stops and is put aside - and we reject ways of worship that are not real and are not based on truth but are for profit or gain or based on lies - and we make courageous attitude towards danger our thing rather than evil cowardice and rather than making dread the prime morivator in us - and we major on faith and exercise it and embrace the faith God puts within us - and we continue like this all our lives believing The Son of Man ever lives and ever keeps us in this path as we hold to His teachings permanently. The Cutting of Roots

There is a Greek (ancient and modern) word φάρμακον (pronounced pharmakon).
English translations include 'sorcerer' and 'medic' and 'pharmacist'. The online dictionary 'Wiktionary' says this about the Ancient Greek word φάρμακον: "Unclear etymology, Pokorny (1959) connects the Greek root φαρ- of φαρόω (pharóō, “to plough”), φάρυγξ (phárunx, “throat”), from a Proto-Indo-European *bʰer- (“to cut, pierce, scrape”) (i.e., a medicinal herb or root as something cut off or dug up) ..."
The Book of Enoch provides explanation in the arts taught by the fallen angel Semjâzâ "Semjâzâ taught enchantments, and root-cuttings" but take note of the seriousness with which God condemns those who practice it (in Revelation 21:8):
"... they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

The Ninth Week

The ninety-first chapter of the Book of Enoch (R H Charles translation) reads:

"12. And after that there shall be another, the eighth week, that of righteousness,
And a sword shall be given to it that a righteous judgement may be executed on the oppressors,
And sinners shall be delivered into the hands of the righteous.

13 And at its close they shall acquire houses through their righteousness,
And a house shall be built for the Great King in glory for evermore,
14d. And all mankind shall look to the path of uprightness.

14a. And after that, in the ninth week, the righteous judgement shall be revealed to the whole world,
b. And all the works of the godless shall vanish from all the earth,
c. And the world shall be written down for destruction.

15. And after this, in the tenth week in the seventh part,
There shall be the great eternal judgement,
In which He will execute vengeance amongst the angels." (Enoch 91)

So here we are in the early twenty-first century, the middle of the ninth week and God gives some a foretaste of things to come. The dominion power humans were made to have over nature will become normal reality. The Son of Man has it now - doninion over nature and dominion over me (hopefully you too) - and words remain in those who receive them that give them some dominion now by faith in the love of God counting on it like these words convey: "Say to this mountain 'Move' and it will move if you believe and do not doubt in your heart". This saying is true about any of nature - animals, plants, rocks, mountains, sea. It is just humans that harden their hearts and disobey but humans too are subject to God's power over them which can mean we can use faith to command humans too and they obey when God makes it so. Our little faith and the many hindrances surrounding us mean we get only a forestaste now until the Son of Man comes in the clouds (before the ninth week). Then man will command nature all the time with full dominion - those who received the call to stop sinning and let the Son make them saints will have dominion by faith in God like the Son of Man already has. This will mean a time of great judgement among humans but the final judgement by God will not come until near the end of the tenth week, many centuries from now. A week is 700 years.

Is the Book of Enoch True?

Regarding the Book of Enoch scripture and whether it is true: 1) The Holy Spirit inspires the same kinds of prophetic words today as were written in the Book of Enoch and He is the truthful witness. 2) The archaeology found in recent decades of the time written about in the Book of Enoch is in detailed agreement with the Book of Enoch. 3) The whole Book of Enoch is just like chapter 1 verse 1 says - it is a true blessing in living a righteous life during these dark times. 4) The Book of Enoch says such things about God in the past that if they were a lie and you knowing this still let those things be accepted it would be a sin against God. Jesus knew about the Book of Enoch since it was among the Dead Sea Scroll scriptures so was avialable at His time and Jude His biological brother quoted it as being true prophecy. Jesus taught teachings found in no othee scripture except the Book of Enoch (such as what happens after death). So for Jesus to know about it and know about God and love God He must have believed it is true or He would have surely opposed it at least because of what it says about God's historic actions in commanding the Nephilim be destroyed by His angels. So the veracity of the Book of Enoch is strongly linked to the veracity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

They are only scriptures

Scriptures are only scriptures. Scriptures like the Bible and the Book of Enoch prescribe the Son of Man and lead you to go to Him for what is life-giving. Then it is this Son of Man Himself and the Holy Spirit given in His name that is life. He leads, in turn, to God. Sometimes He points to scripture but not always. These days so many get stuck with just getting versed in scriptures and do not progress to get life. They merely do not believe what they read. They stumble because they do not combine scriptures with faith. Like someone who does not believe in medicines - if a doctor gives me a prescription I might just take it away and read it and look up the medicines online - but not actually take it to the pharmacist to get the medicine it prescribes. So people look at scriptures and study them but go no further. I can understand people throwing away a prescription a doctor gives them without taking it to a pharmacist to get drugs but that happening with scripture is very sad. You have to actually get the life scripture describes by doing what scripture says and going to the Son of Man, and this applies with the Book of Enoch as with any scripture. Not believing means wasting the opportunity to truly live.

Why is the Book of Enoch not in the Bible?

Why is the Book of Enoch not in the Bible? In the time of Christ and the first Apostles the belief in the Book of Enoch had a lot of influence on the New Testament scriptures being written with Jesus and Jude and Peter and John clearly including Enoch's teachings and building on them. Up until the time of the early Church Fathers that faith continued but later it waned. Gradually people started to forget about the Book of Enoch or doubt it more and more. When the first Bibles were put together the Book of Enoch was left out except with the Bible of the Ethiopic and Eritrean Orthodox Church and some other orthodox believers also kept it. In Europe most people lost the knowledge of the existence of the Book of Enoch and by the time they were publishing 66 book Bibles they did not know about any copies of it. Eventually the Book of Enoch was discovered again by a Scottish freemason traveller but by then the 66 book Bible was so popular nobody wanted to add further books to it and probably too few people would pay the extra to buy a larger Bible.

The Son of Man who Died but Resurrected

In ancient prohecy like that of Enoch and Daniel, the Son of Man is the eternal one who is ever human and we now know He would one day become a flesh and blood mortal human and die and rise again. For us now we can look back and see Jesus is this man. And we can look forward and see He always will be this man, now alive from the dead.

Human Son of God

Jesus Christ taught that He the Son of God is the Son of Man. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man." By saying He is the Son of Man He means He is a human being. This meaning is so important and in scriptures such as the books of Enoch and Daniel and the Book of Revelation and indeed the gospels which teach about the Son of Man this is a phrase used to describe the same person appearing to people throughout history as a human being accompanying God Himself.

God Does Have a Son

One verse in all the Book of Enoch seems the most remarkable to me because it contains a most ancient scriptural statement by God affirming that He has a Son. It is near the end of the collection of texts - chapter 105 (by R H Charles' chapter numbering) "In those days the Lord bade (them) to summon and testify to the children of earth concerning their wisdom: Show (it) unto them; for ye are their guides, and a recompense over the whole earth. For I and My son will be united with them for ever in the paths of uprightness in their lives; and ye shall have peace: rejoice, ye children of uprightness. Amen."

Shout it out

Worthless teachings go unchallenged when those who have been told wise sayings keep quiet about them.
"Shout from the rooftops what is whispered in your ear. Nothing is hidden that will not be exposed."

This Appointed Time

When people read the Book of Enoch years ago and even today they doubt the words of it even though it is the truth; this doubt is partly because of ignorance of history and ignorance of heavenly, spiritual and moral things about which Enoch testified. Yet now the facts and knowledge can be found in museums and books and online too as well as by gifts of the spirit in some churches. The prophet Daniel built on truths taught by Enoch such as the Ancient of Days and the Son of Man and the future of all things. In the past people doubted the underlying message of Daniel too such as his testimony about the Messiah existing since most ancient times as the one in highest authority besides God. Now that the facts to support the truth of Enoch's testimony are available the message of Enoch and related message of Daniel no longer need sealing away in obscurity because students of such verifying facts can bring them into the public awareness in support of Enoch and Daniel. 

Who is the Son of Man? Do you believe in Him?

Who is the Son of Man? Enoch described the Son of Man in the Parables section of the Book of Enoch: Similar in appearance to the description of God the Ancient of Days with white hair and shining but the Son of Man is by that very title described as human. Another few appearances of this person in history are described in scriptures too. Four such appearances are described in a very similar fashion. First of two described by Daniel is in Daniel 7 and then another is in Daniel 10. Daniel 7 (verses 13-14) matches closely Enoch's vision of the Som of Man and the Ancient of Days (sometimes translated Head of Days). The Daniel 10 appearance better matches descriptions in New Testament scriptures clearly linking this person to Jesus Christ. First there is the Apostle Paul (then named Saul) on the Damascus road. It is similar in that this person was seen most fully by only one recipent while others nearby were stunned or in terror by the little they did see. Then there is the vision of Him given to John in Revelation (1:13ff) who describes it deliberately following almost exactly the format of description by Daniel 10. Here is Enoch's description of the Son of Man that Daniel 7 matches closely:
Book of Enoch 43 "There I beheld the Ancient of days, whose head was like white wool, and with him another, whose countenance resembled that of man. His countenance was full of grace, like that of one of the holy angels. Then I inquired of one of the angels, who went with me, and who showed me every secret thing, concerning this Son of man; who he was; whence he was; and why he accompanied the Ancient of days. He answered and said to me, This is the Son of man, to whom righteousness belongs; with whom righteousness has dwelt; and who will reveal all the treasures of that which is concealed: for the Lord of spirits has chosen him; and his portion has surpassed all before the Lord of spirits in everlasting uprightness."
Here is Daniel's deacription in Daniel 7
Daniel 7v9-10 “As I looked thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened." v13-14: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed."
Here in Daniel 10
Daniel 10v5-7 "I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his waist. His body was like topaz, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude. I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision; those who were with me did not see it, but such terror overwhelmed them that they fled and hid themselves."
Then here in Revelation chapter 1
Revelation 1v12-16 "I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance."
And here is Paul's vision that converted him to Christ
(Acts 9:3-9) 3As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

5“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.

“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. 6“Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

7The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. 8Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. 9For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.

So as Jesus once asked: Do you believe in the Son of Man?

Scriptures outside the Western churches canon

Jesus teaches much not taught clearly in other scriptures included in the Western canon and some is clearest when you look at scriptures not canonised by western churches. Take the matter of who goes to hell (the dark part of Sheol, Hades) and how wicked you need to be to go there. The Book of Jasher description of Sodom describes the ancient world meaning of 'wickedness' so eloquently - very illuminating. The Book of Enoch describes it too especially focusing on violent crime and disregard of justice. That fits with Jasher. The poor are noted as victims of it in Jasher. The innocent 'sheep' are noted victims in Enoch - the righteous are so often those oppressed by the wicked. Being righteous puts people at risk of the wicked taking advantage, but is still the best way in light of what Enoch knew of the future judgement against the wicked and the future easing of the burdens of the righteous as the Lord, the Son of Man removes the wicked from among them in the future. Jesus the actual Son of Man made flesh took it further by showing how neglect of innocent poor by wicked rich is being balanced out constantly after death in the afterflfe too, even before the future turning of tables and eventual final judgement. We need to turn from things we learn are wicked and learn to do right and we need to accept what is bad as it comes to us in this life knowing it will be balanced out in the afterlife.  Interesting how in the parable or story Jesus told of the Rich Man and Lazarus it is Abraham who reminds the rich man in the afterlife that no more warning is needed to be given to the rich man's living brothers except what scriptures already give of a terrible afterlife result of disregarding the poor in the first life - interesting because it is only really the Book of Enoch that gives such warning directly and clearly, including such detail about the afterlife and who is sent where. Clearly Jesus was mindful of the Book of Enoch when giving such a teaching and was calling it scripture. To say the scriptures are so clear that people need no more warning in this life about the treatment of the poor and the afterlife after death means you have to include Book of Jasher passages clearly spelling out the wickedness of Sodom and Book of Enoch passages describing the places of the dead. This means they are what Jesus calls scripture. We need to know this and know it now.

Who listens to the message of Enoch?

The actual message of the Book of Enoch: Is anyone listening to it? And if many in society listened what could anyone do to keep faith with that message? So many careers and key parts of modern life are committed to deeply that are shown for the evil they are but are so hard for mankind to change or challenge. Drugs industry, technology, everyday life sciences, medical services, cosmetics, metals industries, based on alchemy and medical sorcery decried by Enoch and Noah and archangels and even God Himself, says this book. With man the correct course of action seems impossible but "with God all things are possible" (said the Son of Man).

An Awkward Reality

From its opening words the Book of Enoch is problematic, especially when believed. "The words of the blessing of Enoch, wherewith he blessed the elect and righteous, who will be living in the day of tribulation, when all the wicked and godless are to be removed" Two immediate problems for modern society and individuals are presented here: the doom of humans while just some are blessed and the reality of the existence of wickedness and righteousness. Perhaps this awkward version of reality it presents causes the backlash it receives and those who believe it recieve.

Entertainment for faith

Many delight in all the modern television programmes making entertainment out of history and documentary material. Light on fact perhaps but people do at least watch and learn. For combining the need for entertainment with the need for self-improvement they can seem to fit the bill. Yet what kind of improvement is truly beneficial. If we find we lack religious faith while some around us seem to just believe what they are supposed to believe without fear of death and afterlife we might want to use entertainment time to kill two birds with one stone and seek some faith at the same time. What kinds of programmes might we try to find and watch? I find ancient history of Jerusalem has much to offer. Looking at the historic times of King Hezekiah and his live-in palace prophet Isaiah is a good place to start. Then programmes about the events and places of the gospel accounts. Then the existence of bones in Bulgaria considered to belong to the cousin of Jesus of Nazareth, John the Baptist. There is a great National Geographic programme about this. Consider as well the testimony of John the Baptist and the prophecies in scriptures about the messenger like Elijah sent to prepare the way for the Messiah. The next place to note is Rome where the bones of Peter lie buried beneath the present day Vatican. The UK BBC has run a great series about the inside of the Vatican covering this. The Vatican is worth a visit even or at least a look at the evidence about Peter. Then another area to watch is anything about Sumeria and the Calcholithic finds of Palestine and Predynastic Egypt and a look at the Early Dynastic periods of Uruk and the like and use Wikipedia for comparison of such archaeology and history with the Book of Enoch from the greater Ethiopic bible canon (compare with extant text of 'The Instruction of Shurrapak' for example). Finally look at programmes about the texts found in ancient first and second century AD ribbish tip archeology sites outside Cairo, etc where some texts include mention of Jesus. Then you have to join the dots in your own head and judge for yourself because the scientists and historians and academics won't do that for you. If you did nothing so far to gather the information other that sit and watch a screen you might gave plenty of energy left to process it all.

It is written

One great technology with which we are perhaps most familiar is writing. Writing developed from lists of items to full prose rendition of verbal sentences around 3000 BC but this development appears most prominently in archaeology around 2500 BC in the finds of the Tel Fara region of Mesopotamia. The Book of Enoch survives as arguably the oldest religious prose writing (scripture) we have existing today. It is recorded in the Book of Jasher that Enoch (Sumerian En-men-dur-ana living in the Sumerian Copper-Stone Age around 3300 to 3000 BC) was first to learn how to write testimonial prose. This was at the time when cuneiform writing on clay and stone was limited to lists and numbers. Archaeologists date the start of the so-called Fara Period when writing prose books became possible and commonplace to around 2500 BC, the 25th century BC. Enoch, the first person to write like this, using a form of writing that could record speech and thought, said to his son (Biblical Methuselah) that he started writing before his marriage. This would be around the 31st century BC (around 3150 BC). [Adam was created in the 39th century BC according to calculations based on the ancient Seder Olam biblical chronology and Enoch was born over 600 years later so around 3200 BC.] Sumerian history records that he famously ascended with angels to where the throne of God is. Genesis says this was in his 365th year which would put it in the 29th century BC (around 2850 BC). The majority of the Book of Enoch consists of writings which report to be from this time. Clearly he had been writing before then according to the account of his first dream. So writing characteristic of the Fara Period may have existed as early as the 31st century BC and the Book of Enoch texts or many of them may have existed in the 28th century BC. The Fara Period known to archaeology extends from around 2500 to 2000 BC but the existence of Book of Enoch may show it started centuries prior to this when Enoch started writing these scriptures still existing today.

Consider the Rainfall

The Book of Enoch is a very ancient set of scripture texts with a clear theme about the quality of the teachings we receive to guide our lives and nourish our souls. Consider the rainfall. When we want pure water and there is no running clean river or tap water, we can collect and drink rainfall because it is usually clean and relatively unpolluted. Consider our need for pure teachings. Enoch warns that the history of worldly teachings and science has been marred by human lust for harmful learning and fallen angels taking advantage of us. We so so need clean unpolluted teachings for the soul and to guide our ways of living. The Parable sections of the Book of Enoch tell of a Son of Man hidden by God in heaven who only learned from God the most unpolluted teachings and was kept pure by God as a Son and chosen one who would not be contaminated by the world or fallen angels but would just learn from God Himself and the Holy Spirit. So we can look to seek out the teachings of this Son of Man since Jesus has told us it is Himself and we can have that teaching within us like unpolluted rainfall when truly clean water is in scarce supply and all around us is impure and defiles the soul of any who learn from it. Instead of learning from a crazy world we can learn instead from the Christ who only learns from God being hidden by God through all time until the time He became flesh on earth.

The Test of Time

The Book of Enoch is important prophetic scripture left out of the Bible (except the Eritrean and Ethiopic Orthodox Bible). There is a simple test of whether the Book of Enoch prophecies are true: Combine Enoch chapters 90-91 (a foretelling of all history) with the Book of Revelation and with the Seder Olam calculations of Old Testament based chronology and you get a prediction that within the next few decades the Temple in Jerusalem will be built. So if this happens then the Book of Enoch texts will be verified. Here is the reasoning in more detail:

Seven Mountains

Many times in the Book of Enoch it is recorded how Enoch visited seven mountains. Now usually the impression is given that they were together. It might be that each set of seven is separate, because each occassion gives the set of seven a special set of chatacteristics. It is usual that they are described as volcanoes. Sometimes one of these is described as highest perhaps in the region or highest in the world known to the Sumerian audience of Enoch. Interestingly there is today a known set of seven volcanoes spanning the main continents https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volcanic_Seven_Summits and one of these is actually the highest mountain in the Middle East world of Enoch's primary audience, Mount Damarvand https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Damavand so could this mountain have very special significance such as site of the cavernous crystal-and-fire-walled caves of the throne place of God?

The Book of Enoch and the Elusive Parables

There exists in the Book of Enoch a section called the Parables (or Book of Parables or Similitudes) which make much mention of the Son of Man. This Son of Man is also called the Anointed One. He will sit with God on God's throne and was with God from before creation. It is quite well known that the Dead Sea Scrolls although including much of the Book of Enoch, do not yet appear to include fragments from this section. Were it not for the testimony of the Christ Himself and of God from heaven and the first hand testimonies of those having seen these things, many would not believe solely on the basis of the Book of Enoch Parables but add them to these testimonies and they all fit like a jigsaw puzzle in which the more pieces of the puzzle you have the clearer the picture of Christ you get. Ultimately you also need knowledge of the power of God to be able to combine it all with faith. Yet the believer who is believing based on these testimonies gets so much more joy when reading Enoch's Parables. It points the reader of other scriptures too (Daniel, Isaiah, Revelation) in the right direction in how the Son of Man, the Christ is seen in these.
Yet it is clear to me that Christ used knowledge already present of the existence of the supernatural Son of Man which is there in Daniel but must have been around in other forms given the extreme confidence with which the Christ spoke of this Son of Man and with which He expected His meaning to be understood and to me this is ample evidence of there being writings available and known at the time to His audience such as the Book of Enoch Parables. It is only a matter of time before they surface as physical evidence too.
Remember when planets are discovered they might be only detected at first by the gravitational affect of them on other planets long before they are actually seen through telescopes. So with the prophecy of the Son of Man which we see by its affects on Jesus' teachings. Enoch's Parables fit this perfectly so it seems highly likely they were in circulation at Jesus' time. Whether factors will lead to physical artefact evidence being suppressed - yes it is likely it will do even if it has not done so already.
Following the same line of reasoning, there is a gap in the underatanding Daniel showed of his experience of the man (Son of Man) recorded in chapters 7 to 11 where it is clear he had some awareness of who it was and expected some readers to have this awareness yet where that awareness came from is hidden - and here again the existence of the Enoch Parables in Daniel's time (available to Daniel and his readers) would perfectly fit this gap.

A Fuller Gospel is Needed

It is my sincere belief that a fuller gospel is needed - not only to include baptism in the Holy Spirit (the traditional full gospel) but also including following of the leadership of the Holy Spirit - and if you don't do that I will not accept you as a brother in Christ (nor anyone who does not follow Him).

So, reject the Holy Spirit's Leadership and I reject your discipleship.

The Most Ancient Holy Teacher

The most ancient teacher from whom we would do well to learn today is one who was active before the earliest pyramids were built, teaching mankind about God and angels and the calendar and the marvels of creation - known from history and extant texts of the Sumerian King Lists and scriptures such as the Epistle of Jude, Genesis, the Book of Hebrews and his own scriptural writings: En-men-dur-ana, also known as Enmenduranki and as Enoch and as Idris. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/En-men-dur-ana 

Ask that you may receive

When we are so assured God must surely will something particular that we have no doubt about it then we are in a true position to be able to count on God for it and act in this assuredness – asking or knocking or seeking or commanding it to be sure – whichever fits the situation. Then having done so we have to follow through to receiving or finding or seeing it done. We must learn that we cannot waver and back out as if the victory was in the asking. The victory is in the receiving – on persiating in certainty we can count on God from the outset right through to the outcome. With a goal that God be thanked.

The Need to be Ready

We need to be ready to die. Anyone who has never known faith and the safekeeping of counting on God, who has not loved like God loves and has not had the joy of hopeful prospects given by God has nothing that will be with them throughout death except their own guilt. Death vaporises everything except faith and hope and love so we cannot be ready for it without having those things in our lives. If we have those things then we can be ready. The coming of the Son of Man will be a similar elimination of all but faith and hope and love. Readiness for it requires having them in our lives.

An Important Faith

How important is believing the message of the Book of Enoch about the Son of Man and who He is to our future prospects? The Son of Man is the One with whom Jesus of Nazareth identified Himself. He put an immense emphasis on people believing this.

John 8

23But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”

25“Who are you?” they asked.

“Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied. 26“I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world.”

27They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father. 28So Jesus said, “When you have lifted upa the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. 29The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” 30Even as he spoke, many believed in him.


It is the first step but such an important one. John 8 continues

31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

He Did Not Know

When Satan said to Jesus "If You are the Son of God..." it seems logical that he really did not know. I mean, he was not around nor were any angels when God begat His only-begotten Son. Only God and the Son of Man would know it had happened - and the Holy Spirit who searches all things.

Rather Exciting Communication

It is rather exciting, aside from modern day thoughts of aliens from a distant galaxy seeking to communicate with us, to think that people living in the times before the pyramids who were only just coming out of the Stone Age around 3000 BC endeavoured earnestly to communicate with us the vitally important things one of their greatest kings had learned from the true guardians of all the galaxies. We are its target audience so it was vital that Methuselah and Noah ensure the Book of Enoch survived the Flood to warn us living today there is something worse than that Great Flood coming and we are on the brink of it. It tells us, yes us living today, what we need to do to survive in body but more importantly in soul.

A Dream of God

I once had a vivid dream more vision than dream just after pleading with God to show Himself to me like Jesus promised in Gospel of John chapter 14. One like one of those ancient Greek gods you see in films stood there before me in a long robe to His feet and said "I am God". He told me the next day at work a document of sorts with many names on it would be put on my desk in front of me (this would never normally happen because I simply dealt with invoices and they were put in my intray not on my desk)    "Look at it!". The feeling of certainty it was God the Father was great but proof came during the following day. At the end of the day around 4pm with few left in the office a girl brought a card and circulation envelope with many names on the card signing it as a greetings card and on the envelope to go around all the people in the office. I knew it was the dream fulifilled. I barely remembered to look at it closely but when I did I saw a note saying it had to be back to Janet so-and-so by 4pm. I remembered the dream somehow had mentioned her name too but I didn't know her. I rushed it to her. Last minute! she said. It had to be back so she could get it to the man (a marvelous prophetically gifted man who worked next door and wowed us with poetry from time to time) who was getting married and the bank holiday was next day. It saved the day that I got it to her. God saved the day and showed me how important it is to Him to love ordinary folk even in little ways.

The Anointed Son of Man

What makes us call Jesus 'Jesus Christ'? See we humans are naturally scared of spirits - we want flesh and blood born of our own kindred speaking to us and ruling us - but with all the blessing and anointing of God - enter the Son of Man - the Christ. This is why we need to read Enoch's writings to understand that there is and always has been this Son of Man, anointed by God. Then we can better understand who Jesus is. Knowing He was crucified brings it home and makes it personal.

When Did Enoch Write His Book?

In my reckoning the Book of Enoch comprises texts originally written between 3200 and 2750 BC. The Masoretic has Methuselah born 687 years after Adam was created. My own estimate of Adam being created 5893 years ago has Methuselah born about 5200 years ago or around 3200 BC. This is when Enoch told Methuselah he started to write - just before Enoch was married and Methuselah was born (when Enoch was about 60). Enoch was among humans (king over everyone) another 300 years (walking with God - living God's way). Then he went and spent a while in heaven then returned for a year with books to pass on. This would be around 2900 BC. Then another 100 years passed and some of the contents of one the Book of Noah portions of the Book of Enoch took place around 2800 BC when Noah was born and Lamech feared he might be son of an angel but Enoch assured this was not so. Then more dreams of coming Flood and the final parts of the writings of the Book of Enoch are completed originally by Noah it seems in his early years around 2750 BC at the latest. This chronology would have the Flood 600 years after 2700 BC or 2100 BC. (Note: Convention or tradition seems to have the Flood being much earlier around 2500 BC.)

A Social Revolution

Many are putting the Book of Enoch into general awareness as scripture through social media, like printer publishers did with the KJV in the past. According to this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_James_Version it was a commercial printer  publisher decision to print KJV Bibles without the Apocrypha books - to make them cheaper. Now that all books of Bible are free online it is up to us through social media to determine which scriptures people choose to read and choose to mention in churches - many churches will be influenced to include what their members want because they will need to compete with social media. We are in a social revolution similar to that of the printing press that led centuries ago to scriptures being read in English and modern languages in churches instead of in Latin. We can lead through social media like publishers led churches of the past centuries more powerfully than church officialdom. Let not the blind lead the blind but let the Holy Spirit lead us all - from the grass roots, as Enoch and Daniel prophesied.

Of What Account Were They?

People claim the contents of the Bible is determined by a canon (church laws) and the Book of Enoch is not included, yet how true is that? The main Bible that determined other Bibles' contents seems to have been the King James Version but not in itself controlled by any Church Council regarding which books it included but rarher the scholars of Oxford and Cambridge universities. Of what account were they? 

Who Wrote the Book of Enoch?

Who could have written the Book of Enoch if not those by whom it says it is written? If it wasn't Enoch and Noah and Methuselah who wrote it they must have been the cleverest person in history to have gotten all the historic details of the Calcholithic and Early Bronze Age I and II so correct with such precision and accuracy plus they must have been inspired by a spirit from God to have gotten the Parables section so truthful regarding the Son of Man so anyone with knowledge of such history and real faith must ask whether such a person could make up a fake book. We could believe it now or we could doubt it and simply wait for very ancient fragments to be discovered much older than the Dead Sea Scrolls. I'm done with doubting it personally and will carry on believing it since it leads to truth Jesus said I must believe.

Jesus is God's life's work

God's Masterplan

The Book of Enoch tells us the great plan of God to deal with wickedness - make a new righteous people and do away with the wicked and ungodly. Within this plan emerges His even greater plan from before the beginning of everything - make a human Son begotten of Himself and keep this person pure by hiding Him from all the rest of creation while grooming Him to be the new boss to sit on God's throne. Then to make the righteous replacement people to replace the wicked, send this Son of Man for a little while before bringing Him back into hiding until the time comes to judge and remove the wicked from among the righteous.

The Law of Christ

The Law of Christ: What is that? A sequence of steps: "Stop sinning", "Believe that I am", "Hold to My teaching", "Stop sinning all the more as truth sets you free", "Hold to My teaching", "Now you are friends", "Receive the Holy Spirit", "I will come to him and the Father will come to him, and dwell with him", "Hold to My teaching", "Bear much fruit", "Remain in Me and let My words remain in you", "Live forever - and I will raise him up on the Last Day"

Brightest Lights of the Fara Period

How did the writings we have today in the Book of Enoch survive the 'Noah's Flood'? Well another book surviving the flood might give a clue - this book got written down again not long after the flood by a scribal priest and two copies from that time - extant copies - still survive in museums in Oxford and Chicago - The Instructions of Sharappak - written record of proverbs passed on from Lamech to Noah - so either Noah remembered them or copies survived the flood - perhaps the cities from before the flood like Methuselah's capital Shurappak were excavated when being rebuilt after the flood (the city of Sharappak site Tel Fara shows the flood layer and rebuilding on top of it and Sumerian history backs this up) - Noah would have known this city well and that it held libraries of books from before the flood (it is still famous for them and this gave that period the characteristics of first book writing so the period is now known as the Fara Period).

The Nature of the Son

Jesus agreed He could rightly be called a god in the same way other great leaders can. And He can rightly be called Lord because He is a great lord and powerful master. But He is and in some mysterious spirit way always has been human. Unlike God. Hence He is the Son of Man. And God has made Him truly Lord by raising Him from the dead after He was crucified. Because His being first of all God's makings He is before time and is not changed in His nature at all by time because He is Lord over time. This is how He is like God the Father but God the Father is greater.

The Son of Man was always human

If Jesus is God then we need a normal human who isn't God to intercede with Him and represent normal humans with Him - someone like a pope say - hence there are many who love such doctrine - Truth is, Jesus was always human and normal from before time but hidden from sin until He was sent. This is why He is called the Son of Man. That is why, as Enoch explained, He was hidden by God - he was hidden away from corrupting influences and events in the world so He would be perfect to be born into the world - Jesus Christ. He was the Son of Man before His coming in Bethlehem so this means He was always human even in heaven before He came and for this reason God hides Him away to spare Him the constant temptation a human suffers -yet for a few decades He did suffer the temptations we suffer so He knows what it is like and this is what is so important about Him being the Son of Man. 

Jude quoting Noah

The Bible's Epistle of Jude quotes not just one verse from the Book of Enoch but two - from the beginning and again from the middle. The first is quoting Enoch the prophet himself writing by the Holy Spirit. This is chapter 1 verse 9. The second quote in the same verses of Jude is a quoting Noah (Noah's Flood Noah) who contributed part of the texts combined together in what is called the Book of Enoch. This is from chapter 60 verse 8 (in R H Charles' chapter/verse numbering) which states that Enoch was seventh from Adam. It reads "But the male is named Behemoth, who occupied with his breast a waste wilderness named Dûidâin, on the east of the garden where the elect and righteous dwell, where my grandfather was taken up, the seventh from Adam, the first man whom the Lord of Spirits created." This "seventh from Adam" is supported by modern archaeology which found the Sumerian King List regarding kings of the first civilisation Sumer before the Flood which states that Adam (it calls him Alulim) was first king and was created by God having no earthly parents and that Enoch (called Enmenduranki or Enmendurana) was seventh king after Adam. Seventh from Adam. Noah's writing might also have been referring to Enoch being seventh generation after Adam, as later genealogies show.

Believing the Apocalypse

I always kept an open mind about Revelation, The Apocalypse, knowing it says dire things, yet never hearing anyone back it up or express certainty about it, so I admitted to God I was not certain it was authentic - not that I refused to believe it - I just did not have it in me to be certain. After all it is dire what it says in 21:8. And there is weird stuff all through it. I needed to be sure and asked God about it. A friend pointed out the similarity between Rev 13 and Daniel 7 - the Beast in Rev and empires prophesied in Daniel and I suddenly saw what they meant and just knew in my heart the same Spirit inspiring Daniel with the dream (and we know it came true with Babylon followed by Persia then Greece) was the inspirer of Jesus showing John what would take place yet still. The continuity was there. I believed it - after decades of reading it I was sure. Then to see Enoch reflected in it too - it is so profound it could only be God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit behind it as behind Enoch and then Daniel too.

I used to be trinitarian

I was brought up to be a trinitarian pastor like my father and his father - I taught trinitarian teachings dutifully but hated not being true to the scriptures in spirit and truth - but I asked to know God by visitation - for God to show Himself as Father and Son and Holy Spirit. Well God showed Himself to me in a real dream with signs following and said "I am God" - weeks later Jesus came to me as I walked near my home and later gave me proof it had been Him - and later the Holy Spirit visited me in a church service - and then I was shown the Book of Enoch and got a better view of Father and Son from it - God and the Son of Man who God calls His Son - then what really did it was a man online telling me to look up where in the scriptures it says "God the Son" - I was stunned not to find it anywhere - so I repented - though breaking the old habit of saying "God the Son" took a long time. I still need deprogramming with trinitarian concepts well embedded in my psyche. Preaching this helps. I came across Arians too and that helped. Many are persuaded of Soccininan teachings but after struggling with such teachings I'm convinced of the pre-existence of Christ. Just that He came from the Father before time began as a Son by birth - the only one. The only-begotten Son.

He that liveth for ever

I once went to a pentecostal church because a friend promised I would witness the true Holy Spirit there and took me along. The message I heard spoken in tongues of angels became English in my mind as it was spoken (maybe this is gift of interpretation) and the words were clear "Look at the trees how they put forth buds and leaves. They do so by the authority of the name of Lord Jesus Christ" and it continued about planets but I have forgotten the words. Weeks later I read the Book of Enoch for the first time browsing in a church bookshop. I opened it and read almost the exact words of that message in tongues - yet the words were written five thousand years ago! Thank God it has been so well preserved and translated over and over without losing its original inspired message from the Holy Spirit. It says in chapter 5:1-2 "Observe ye how the trees cover themselves with green leaves and bear fruit - wherefore give ye heed and know with regard to all His works and recognise how He that liveth for ever hath made them so and all His works go on thus from year to year." This is not anywhere in the Bible scriptures so I had never heard it before and the speaker in tongues was church leader but did not believe in any scriptures outside the Bible (he later strongly rebuked me for even mentioning the Book of Enoch and told me not to return to that church - for this and other reasons). So the Holy Spirit Himself was using the Book of Enoch together with His gifts to tell me even now that Jesus is He who lives for ever and is this Lord spoken of in the prophecies.

The Truth worth dying for

The Gospel of John chapter 18 verse 37 '"You are a king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."'
He died testifying to something true and died knowingly. It was for you, for me. So what truth could be so important and so potentially beneficial to His hearers and to us that it was worth dying to reveal? Surely the greatest revelation uniquely associated with the coming and life on Earth of Jesus Christ: His resurrection. God in love and power was and is and ever will be so dependable that Jesus could die depending on Him to raise Him from the dead; and God did just that. God raised His obedient and much loved Son to live forever. That love and power and dependability of God is the truth Jesus put out there and died to do so.

CHRIST DIED FOR YOU

"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all." (1 John 1:5)

Oh that we could forget the darkness people remind us we have within - God is light and in Him is no darkness - this takes precedence - just for a bit let's ignore darkness in others and in ourselves and focus on the God of light in whom is no darkness at all.
CHRIST DIED FOR YOU
The Holy Spirit is never a liar and is always full of the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

He is the Word of God

Hebrews explains very nicely indeed why the Son of God is called the Word of God. Hebrews chapter 1 begins (American King James Version) "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, Has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: Being made so much better than the angels, as he has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they."
He is the "express image of God" so not an inanimate image like a mountain reflected in a lake or a door reflected in a mirror - not an incidental reflection of God - not even a family likeness of God - but an image EXPRESSED by God - so like God spoke everything that Jesus is as a kind of autobiography of Himself - God expressed what He Himself is like by making His Son so much like Himself - yet human from the start and then eventually not just human or humanlike but real human flesh like us.

Earliest Scripture

The earliest scriptural writings we have I believe are in the Book of Enoch but it is preserved through the ages and retranslated over and over. Another writer of scripture-like writings around the time of Enoch was Cainan (the Book of Jasher records). The earliest ‘scriptures’ found actually surviving intact from when they were written come from the descendants of Enoch. The Instructions of Sharappak is the best example we have preserved as extant text and it starts: "In those days, in those far remote days, in those nights, in those faraway nights, in those years, in those far remote years, at that time the wise one who knew how to speak in elaborate words lived in the Land; Sharappak [biblical name Lamech], the wise one, who knew how to speak with elaborate words lived in the Land. Sharappak gave instructions to his son; Sharappak, the son of Ubara-Tutu [Methuselah] gave instructions to his son Zi-ud-sura [Noah]: My son, let me give you instructions: you should pay attention! Zi-ud-sura, let me speak a word to you: you should pay attention! ..." -- translation of the 'Instructions of Sharappak', 3rd Mill BC. http://etcsl.orinst.ox.ac.uk/section5/tr561.htm . * Note: Methuselah [Ubara-Tutu] was son of Enoch [En-men-dur-anki] who was son of Jared who was son of Mahalalel who was son of Kainan (a teacher of righteousness) who was son of Enos who was son of Seth who was son of Adam [Sumerian name Alulim] who was first king of Sumer and ruled from Eridu the first city, who had no earthly parents because he was created by God. We find these people listed in the Sumerian King List, another extant document from later after the Flood ( http://etcsl.orinst.ox.ac.uk/section2/tr211.htm ), and in Genesis and in the Book of Jasher too. The latter tells that Methuselah succeeded Enoch as king of Sumer and was last king before the Flood came in Noah's time. Noah was Methuselah's grandson and Noah's father Lamech did not become king: both Jasher and Sumerian King List agree on this. Jasher tells us that Lamech (Shurappak) did not follow God as closely as Enoch and Methuselah and Noah. Yet his 'Instructions of Sharappak' writings of proverbs for his son Noah are reminiscent of scriptural proverbs in Bible scripture.

Essential

It is essential to being free from mortal sin in this life to believe that not only is Jesus the Son of Man but He has precedence over time itself because He was before time began - hence He said "Before Abraham was born, I am". (See John 8)

Believe This

God was there before the things in the universe that work in time and form what we call time existed. It was in this arche - this beginning - when only the primary things - God and from God His Word, His Son, His Son of Man, existed - these were necessarily preceding all things because all things submit the the authority of what precedes them - arche - beginning. The Son is that arche (Rev 3:14) http://biblehub.com/text/revelation/3-14.htm and time itself owes homage to Him who preceded time: "Before Abraham was, I am" - His "I am" shows He is greater than time itself because He precedes time. Believe this and you will live. If not, if you never believe it you will die in your sins. (John 8)

A Likely Future

My reading of prophecies like Revelation 11 suggests to me Jerusalem decades from now could be as bad as Sodom - temple rebuilt in it - decadent - like Egypt meaning believers have very tough time there - High Priest using power wickedly - 'Wicked Priest' - 'Man of Lies' - 'Man of Lawlessness' - meanwhile 'Beast' empire world power rising - occupies Jerusalem to some extent (or agents are there or influence) - sheep are unfaithful because they do not sanctify God or the temple - sheep are blind (Enoch's dream) - possibly a sheep becomes warlike - Enoch's dream's 'ram' (dabela) - world tries to prevent it gaining power - two witmesses appear and prophesy frustrating things and bring God's judgments like Elijah did - people vexed - Beast agents kill the witnesses - world events cataclysmic as end approaching - witnesses resurrected and ascend - Wicked Priest frustrated by the witnesses ascending - all a sign of the coming demise of Wicked Priest and the Beast at the coming of Christ - terrible earthqiake splits Jerusalem into three - terrible judgments commence on Beast empire but it continues to rise - it instigates reign of oppression of believers - Second Beast rises - 666 not far away - tribulation times for believers but wicked dying constantly in apocalyptic plagues and judgments as God starts their massive scale removal - all could be by 2060 AD - leading up to return of Christ - ram sheep under great pressure but is saved as Christ returns - resurrection - Beast and Wicked Priest destroyed by word of Christ at His return - start of a thousand years of judgments by Christ on whole earth - all happening probably by 2200 AD.

Powers of the Coming Age

Tasting the powers of the coming age:

"It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace." (Hebrews 6:4-6)

The ability to command nature - storms that are stilled, wild animals that obey, speaking with tongues of angels, justice and victory in governing, judging like Samson of old, heard alwaya by God, working alongside angels - all these "powers of the coming age" can be tasted now - but we must forever live up to it once we receive the foretaste.

The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God

The Apostle John knew and believed that Jesus pre-existed before all things and that is why Jesus is over all things. He received this from John the Baptist and the Holy Spirit. In his gospel he wrote: 'John testified about him when he shouted to the crowds, "This is the one I was talking about when I said, 'Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.'"'

The 'beginning' of God's creation is the 'ruler' of God's creation.

The Noah's Ark Flood

The Flood: Global or local? What does the Book of Enoch say?

Book of Enoch Chapter 89

And one of those four went to othat white bull and instructed him in a secret, without his being terrified: he was born a bull and became a man, and built for himself a great vessel and dwelt thereon; and three bulls dwelt with him in that vessel and they were covered in. And again I raised mine eyes towards heaven and saw a lofty roof, with seven water torrents thereon, and those torrents flowed with much water into an enclosure. And I saw again, and behold fountains were opened on the surface of that great enclosure, and that water began to swell and rise upon the surface, and I saw that enclosure till all its surface was covered with water. And the water, the darkness, and mist increased upon it; and as I looked at the height of that water, that water had risen above the height of that enclosure, and was streaming over that enclosure, and it stood upon the earth. And all the cattle of that enclosure were gathered together until I saw how they sank and were swallowed up and perished in that water. But that vessel floated on the water, while all the oxen and elephants and camels and asses sank to the bottom with all the animals, so that I could no longer see them, and they were not able to escape, (but) perished and sank into the depths. And again I saw in the vision till those water torrents were removed from that high roof, and the chasms of the earth were levelled up and other abysses were opened. Then the water began to run down into these, till the earth became visible; but that vessel settled on the earth, and the darkness retired and light appeared. But that white bull which had become a man came out of that vessel, and the three bulls with him, and one of those three was white like that bull, and one of them was red as blood, and one black: and that white bull departed from them.

"... And all the cattle of that enclosure were gathered together until I saw how they sank and were swallowed up and perished in that water. ..,"

If this is translated coreectly, and it is unlikely a dream like this would be distorted, then the obvious meaning,  given by very momentous prophetic foretelling to Enoch, is that all humans were within the bounds of an area surrounded by higher ground that kept in the flood waters until that high ground itself overflowed to the surrounding land. Looking at Sumer and its cities (apart from Shush - Susa) they were in a flood plain surrounded by higher ground. So only this flood plain needed to be flooded to kill them. Others had been killed already in surrounding areas before this flood.

So the water rose over the height of mountains or higher ground surrounding the plains of Iraq (Sumer) until it flowed beyond those mountains and hills and "stood upon the Earth". Ararat is where the ark settled but that is not necessarily the modern Mount Ararat but maybe the Mountains of Armenia and East of there in Iran the Zagros mountains "East of Shinar". So at least the Flood reached this far so the basin ("enclosure") it filled might be Zagros Mountains in East and Armenian Mountains in North and Palestine Hills in West and Saudi Arabia mountains in South. Then over all these mountains to beyond them a tsunami might have gushed to hit Susa in Iran and Egypt and Africa and Turkey and Georgia and Russia. So this wide area would have been rendered devoid of animal life by the greatest tsunami in human history. So to repopulate it the animals of the ark could be let disperse again and humans gradually follow after their scattering following the confusing of languages of Babel. But not necessarily global. Historic and true though. Just not fanciful.

Build the Temple

After earnest prayer one day in 1994 I suddenly got a vision of a building sand bucket being tipped out and the words "Build the temple!". I asked for confirmation three-fold and went to a church that evening where three girls in sunday school sang a song they wrote "build build build the temple; build build build the temple" then two speakers in turn spoke about building the temple - one about David being told his son would do it and David was gobsmacked and said to God "What am I and what is my family that You would give me this honor!". 

Who do people say the Holy Spirit is?

Some think and say that the Holy Spirit is the sum of certain qualities of God the Father and some that He is the spirit of Jesus but to me the Holy Spirit comes as a person distinct from God the Father (indeed like water flowing from God's throne) - once He gave me a vision message that changed my life and another time years later He (almost but not quite audibly) literally whispered in my ear the answer to a question I was pondering (using a wise way to prove He was not my imagination) - this was not God the Father visiting me personally. There is obvious logic which says He is like a many branching stream and agent of God - just consider millions of churches around the world where visitation by the Holy Spirit is experienced frequently in meetings - think of just one Sunday (or Saturday, Sabbath) and at any time thousands or millions might be experiencing His visitation manifested in gifts of the Spirit - these visitations are from the kind of person who can be in many places at once - saying different things through different people - while God is maybe at that moment seated on His throne in glory.

Enoch's Writings in Sumerian Times

Scholars and archaeologists study cuneiform writings from the time of Enoch and often unintentional verification details in The Book of Enoch improves as more and more cuneiform is analysed and studied and more digs take place and further libraries and other artefacts are discovered. Actual extant texts from just centuries after the time of Enoch do exist. The Instructions of Shurappak is a surviving extant text translating earlier texts or oral traditions actually dating from Enoch's time and his son and grandson's time when his great grandson was growing up. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instructions_of_Shuruppak .

How did these Sumerian texts found today as parts of the Book of Enoch and Instructions of Sharappak survive the Flood around 2200 BC so that after it around 2100 to 2000 BC scribes were writing copies of some of it? The Instructions of Sharappak presumably survived because they were proverbs given by Noah's father to Noah. It seems Noah might have either passed them on in oral form or in written form to those who later made them into the texts of which we have two actual surviving copies today. If this happened to the Instructions of Sharappak then it seems plausible the same could have happened to the writings we have passed down and translated over and over in the Book of Enoch (found too among the Dead Sea Scrolls).

The Sixth Seal

Revelation chapter 6:
"I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, 'Come!'"

"I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place."
What is a seal? A document sealed is one that cannot open until the breaking of the seal. The things sealed are things NOT allowed to happen in any circumstance until an appointed time. Only one person could open that Rev set of seals so nobody else could bring about those kinds of events spoken of in the sealed document, and the one worthy only opens it in God's time. So the events can never be allowed to happen until the seal is broken. There is a saying "So and so will stop at nothing if ..." but God does not behave as one who will stop at nothing - He stops from allowing the kinds of events like the Revelation 6 sixth seal but eventually even those events will be allowed. I think soon this sixth seal will be broken by Lord Jesus if it hasn't be broken by Him already. This does not mean immediately the apocalyptic events will happen, in my understanding, but that once that seal is broken they are no longer ruled out - and eventually (Revelation chapter 16 shows) they will happen.
So once that sixth seal is broken by Jesus Christ a whole load of things are suddenly on that table that were kept off it before.

Emanuel

What does Emanuel mean? What does "God is with us" mean? How is its meaning to be applied to the coming of Jesus? It means by the work of Jesus God would dwell with those who love Jesus and keep and obey His teachings and Jesus too dwells with them. John 14: 23-24 'Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me."'

"Express image"

If people think Jesus is God Himself they lose the meaning of many verses including that great verse in Hebrews 1:3 that says the Son is the express image of God. If the Son is God then He is simply and vainly an image of Himself which makes that verse and the belief the verse expresses simply meaningless.

It is all in line with prevailing philosphies among the Greeks when the scriptures of John and the epistle to Hebrews were written, such as Plato's theory of forms ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_forms ) - we see the Moon and sometimes it is larger than other times but the Moon itself is neither changing in size nor changing much in distance away but rather a projected image of the Moon through the lens of the atmosphere is what really changes in size - so there is the physical Moon (its substance or 'physis') but also the 'form' which that 'physis' produces and the form is 'in' the physis. This kind of thinking must have prevailed in new testament scripture times because it is evident in how scripture writers described the relationship between Father and Son and also in later writings like Tertulian's. Yet it is the Holy Spirit really behind it all.

I think misunderatanding is often caused by wanting to interpret certain verses to fit with favoured dogmas rather than the other way around - there might be 1000 verses saying Jesus Son of God clearly then one or three that are opache but could be interpreted to suggest what demoniatuonal church dogma says but this is enough, fools think, to outweigh the 1000.

Why the fuss about all this? The fuss is because a person will die in their sins unless they realise properly who Jesus is and believe it and follow Him by holding to His sayings (John 8).

We all need setting free and taking it to heart that the Messiah actually did die for you and I encourages us that the God of Jesus must be able and willing to help.

You need to believe The Son of Man was alive and well before even Abraham was born. This is how you can also believe He will be alive and well forever so He can make you a child of God forever and intercede and bring you grace and truth to keep you that way. "I am He that lives and was dead and see I am alive forever," He says.

An Inspired Ancient Book

In 1995 I sought a church where the Holy Spirit was manifested with gifts of the Spirit. A local church and government leader told me to come with him to a church where I would certainly witness this. A man there spoke a message in tongues that sounded angelic and each sentence became English in my head. "Consider the trees how they put forth buds and leaves - they do this by the authority of the name of Lord Jesus Christ" was what I heard. Then the speaker himself said those very words in English. A little later I was in a bookshop and came across the Book of Enoch. I opened it and read:  [Enoch 5:1-4] "Observe how the trees cover themselves with green leaves and bear fruit: wherefore give heed and know with regard to all His works, and recognize how He that liveth for ever hath made them so. And all His works go on thus from year to year for ever, and all the tasks which they accomplish for Him, and their tasks change not, but according as God hath ordained so is it done. And behold how the sea and the rivers in like manner accomplish and change not their tasks from His commandments. But ye -- ye have not been steadfast, nor done the commandments of the Lord, But ye have turned away and spoken proud and hard words With your impure mouths against His greatness. Oh, ye hard-hearted, ye shall find no peace." It was clear this book had the same inspirer who inspired the interpretation of tongues earlier - the Holy Spirit.

Some Alive Today Might Never Die

By my reckoning it is plausible that some alive today could be among the ones who will be alive at the start of Christ's reign - see Enoch 91 http://www.sacred-texts.com/bib/boe/boe097.htm , the tenth week is the last 700 years of the seven thousand years that started with Adam being made. The judgement of the living (by Christ) starts in the ninth week. The final judgment of dead and living by God starts not at the end of the tenth week (7000 AM) but in its seventh part (compare Enoch was born in the seventh part of the first week and his birth works out from other scripture to be around 650 AM) so that could be 6950 AM approximately. So from other scripture we get the time of judgment by Christ being a thousand years (which fits with starting in the ninth week) so it might start around 5950 AM which could be just decades or even less away. It also says in Revelation Satan will start a war at the end of the thousand year reign of Christ so that could mean it ends around 6940 AM and starts with the return of Christ a thousand years before that so around 5940 AM. So it is all the more plausible that people alive today could live to see it and those who believe and are alive to see would be caught up with Christ in the air and so never actually die.

How Jesus Alluded to Enoch

Jesus identified with the Son of Man in the prophecy of Enoch chapter 62, well read in Jesus' time. He clearly alludes to or quotes it when He speaks of people seeing the Son of Man sitting at God's right hand and coming in the clouds of heaven - paralleling "see the Son of Man sitting on the throne of His glory" in Enoch 62.
Enoch chapter 62

And thus the Lord commanded the kings and the mighty and the exalted, and those who dwell on the earth, and said: 'Open your eyes and lift up your horns if ye are able to recognize the Elect One.'

And the Lord of Spirits seated him on the throne of His glory,
And the spirit of righteousness was poured out upon him,
And the word of his mouth slays all the sinners,
And all the unrighteous are destroyed from before his face.
And there shall stand up in that day all the kings and the mighty,
And the exalted and those who hold the earth,
And they shall see and recognize How he sits on the throne of his glory,
And righteousness is judged before him,
And no lying word is spoken before him.

Then shall pain come upon them as on a woman in travail,
[And she has pain in bringing forth]
When her child enters the mouth of the womb,
And she has pain in bringing forth.

And one portion of them shall look on the other,
And they shall be terrified,
And they shall be downcast of countenance,
And pain shall seize them,
When they see that Son of Man Sitting on the throne of his glory.

And the kings and the mighty and all who possess the earth shall bless and glorify and extol him who rules over all, who was hidden.

For from the beginning the Son of Man was hidden,
And the Most High preserved him in the presence of His might,
And revealed him to the elect.

And the congregation of the elect and holy shall be sown,
And all the elect shall stand before him on that day.

And all the kings and the mighty and the exalted and those who rule the earth
Shall fall down before him on their faces,
And worship and set their hope upon that Son of Man,
And petition him and supplicate for mercy at his hands.

Nevertheless that Lord of Spirits will so press them
That they shall hastily go forth from His presence,
And their faces shall be filled with shame,
And the darkness grow deeper on their faces.
And He will deliver them to the angels for punishment,
To execute vengeance on them because they have oppressed His children and His elect
And they shall be a spectacle for the righteous and for His elect:
They shall rejoice over them,
Because the wrath of the Lord of Spirits resteth upon them,
And His sword is drunk with their blood.
And the righteous and elect shall be saved on that day,
And they shall never thenceforward see the face of the sinners and unrighteous.

And the Lord of Spirits will abide over them,
And with that Son of Man shall they eat
And lie down and rise up for ever and ever.

And the righteous and elect shall have risen from the earth,
And ceased to be of downcast countenance.

And they shall have been clothed with garments of glory,
And these shall be the garments of life from the Lord of Spirits:
And your garments shall not grow old,
Nor your glory pass away before the Lord of Spirits.

The Writer of Revelation Believed Jesus Pre-existed

Compare these two passages (and allow for translation differences but it is an obvious comparison even allowing for translations): Daniel 10v5-7 and Revelation 1v12-16. See the description of the Son of Man and see how John's description deliberately copies Daniel's and in the exact same order except the description of His 'face' which is at the end in John's description. (For the full passages see at bottom, below.)

Clearly John is saying something here.

Daniel 10v5-7 "I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his waist. His body was like topaz, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude. I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision; those who were with me did not see it, but such terror overwhelmed them that they fled and hid themselves."

Revelation 1v12-16 "I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance."

Glorification

Glorification is a mystery - how a human contemplating God's glory is glorified like Moses with a shining face and like the Son of Man with unfading glory seen by John in his Revelation vision - and such glory is passed on when such a person's glory is in turn contemplated "we who with unvelied faces contemplate the Lord's glory are being transformed into His likeness with ever increasing glory which comes from the Lord who is Spirit" wrote Paul. Yet we do not cease to be human. Neither is the glorified Son of Man any less a human being. 

Logos

The Word, I believe, was the spoken word of God by which the Son of Man was begotten by God as the Only-begotten Son of God. This Son of Man was the elect anointed one through whom the Father, God, made all things. Then after they made flesh and after many centuries the Son of Man, still that Word of God, became flesh. This is Jesus. Still though He is both Son of Man and Word of God and both Lord and Christ risen from the dead after the cross. He will always be this Son of Man and Word of God and always human - for us.

Black Holes

oOften in scripture it mentions God stretching out the heavens - and like when you stretch out fabric you pin it in place so it doesn't spring back. Maybe black holes are those pins.

Uncertain Future

We face an uncertain future - uncertain for us but not for God. The times are changing and the planet too. The prayer of Enoch as he prophetically saw ahead a great flood about to sweep civilisation is light for us to live by so we might escape what is coming. Enoch 83:6-8 (Enoch's prayer) "Now then, O God, Lord and mighty King, I entreat thee, and beseech thee to grant my prayer, that a posterity may be left to me on earth, and that the whole human race may not perish; that the earth may not be left destitute, and destruction take place for ever. O my Lord, let the race perish from off the earth which has offended thee, but a righteous and upright race establish for a posterity for ever. Hide not thy face, O Lord, from the prayer of thy servant."

John the Baptist believed Jesus Pre-existed

(John 1:29-31) 'The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.”'

John the Baptist believed Jesus his cousin pre-existed. John was concieved before Jesus was concieved yet he is on record saying Jesus existed before he did. So John the Baptist did not pre-exist before Jesus and neither did we. But Jesus did exist even before He, Jesus, was concieved: This is the testimony of John the Baptist.

All About Spirit

It is all about what comes from Spirit from God Himself and since it is only God Himself that existed before anything was created the very beginning of Jesus (before time) was only from God Himself and only by Spirit. The Son of Man was created and begotten only from Spirit and only from and by God Himself so He was entirely spirit since only spirit existed before all things were created. So He more than anyone is the Son of God. Then aeons later in our time and space in this created universe He was made again by being made flesh and again it was by God and by Spirit.

He is

"I am He that lives and was dead and behold I am alive forever"

When you see Jesus after His resurrection as described by John at the end of his gospel - Jesus standing plainly on the shore asking His disciples fishing if they caught anything then giving a sign it is Him by giving them a great catch - Jesus just stood there, risen, calm, victorious, work of the cross done and dusted - He just is - He is truly now simply "I am".

We can even experience Him like this today if we love Him and keep His words - He is the same. The Master.
