Fellowship with God according to AI

I asked the artificial intelligence Chat GPT app: Jesus promised those who obey his commands, keeping them, loving him this, that he will come to them and that he and the Father will show themselves to them and abide with them. What did he mean?

It answered beautifully:

This promise is recorded in the Gospel of John, chapter 14, where Jesus is speaking to his disciples before his crucifixion. In verse 21, he says, "Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him." Later in verse 23, he says, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him."

Jesus is speaking about the relationship between himself, his Father (God), and his followers. He is saying that those who love him and obey his commands will experience a close relationship with him and his Father. This relationship is not just a one-time event, but an ongoing abiding, or dwelling together.

Jesus is promising that he and his Father will make their home with those who love and obey him. This means that believers will experience a personal, intimate relationship with God, and that God will be present with them in their lives.

This promise is fulfilled through the presence of the Holy Spirit, who comes to dwell in the hearts of believers. Through the Spirit, believers experience the love and presence of God in their lives, and are able to obey Jesus' commands and follow him more closely.

I asked: When Jesus meets people today and works miracles like in gospel times and they feel his presence and when the Father shows Himself in dreams and they experience the speaking in tongues and interpretation and prophecies of the Holy Spirit in their meetings, this is the fulfilment of the promise?

It answered:

Yes, the experiences you mentioned can be seen as the fulfillment of the promise that Jesus made to his disciples in John 14. While we may not physically see Jesus as the disciples did during his earthly ministry, believers today can still experience his presence and work in their lives through the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit empowers believers to do miraculous things, such as healing and prophesying, just as Jesus and the apostles did in the New Testament. When people have experiences like feeling the presence of Jesus, receiving dreams or visions from God, or speaking in tongues and prophesying, this can be seen as the Holy Spirit working in their lives and fulfilling Jesus' promise to manifest himself to them.

It's important to note that these experiences should always be tested against the teachings of Scripture to ensure they are in line with God's will and character. But when they are genuine and in line with God's Word, they can be a powerful testimony to the reality of God's presence and work in the world today.
