The Historical Relationship Between Witchcraft and Science

In the past, witchcraft was a method utilized by privileged individuals with esoteric knowledge to acquire secret knowledge and power from nature through spirits. It became linked to religion during the Middle Ages, but was prohibited when it surpassed the Church's boundaries. In the 1500s, what is currently modern science was known as natural witchcraft, which aimed to discover concealed knowledge of nature and power through experimentation in specialized communities, without relying on spirits (and even denying their existence). This scientific quest was similar to witchcraft in its esotericism and centered on areas like cosmetics, metallurgy, medical drugs, and animal hybridization, which were believed to have been instructed by fallen angels before Enoch's time. The Book of Enoch warned against these practices, which were considered to cause sin, immorality, violence, and ultimately led to the Great Flood. Nevertheless, the Church had lost much of the knowledge contained in the Book of Enoch and permitted the proliferation of these technologies and sciences. These leisurely experimental communities paved the way for the pollution and devastation of the Earth through industries such as petrochemicals, plastic production, and the extensive use of cars and airplanes, unimpeded by the Church.
