Living in Truth: The Power of the Spirit of Truth

The core of life is truth, as it leads to eternal life, while lies and falsehoods lead to death. However, truth can be attained through revelation and accurate historical accounts from truthful individuals. The paradox of a poet who claimed "All Cretans are liars" despite being a Cretan himself is explained by the belief that his statement came from a non-Cretan source, a Spirit of true prophecy, which can break the hold of lies by introducing truth in a transcendent way. The Spirit of Truth can bring life to a situation of death, overcoming hopelessness by entering without being corrupted. The starting point for truth is a reliable first speaker of Spirit-imparted truth who does not need it from someone else, and that is God the Father and His eternal Son, Jesus the Christ. Through receiving the Spirit of Truth, which God can send in Jesus' name, one can learn and live the truth, leading to obedient love for God and others. So, it is essential to put aside falsehood and embrace truth, which has real power for good and not evil, and receive the Spirit's grace to fully save oneself.
