I would not say the beast leader called by many the Antichrist is around yet. But if we call him by his more biblical name the Man of Lawlessness, I would say the presence of the “secret power of lawlessness” must be around. How a man will rise to power within this hidden lawlessness domain I do not know. I speculate that the lawlessness domain exists in the gaps. The law systems we have governing our lives and work have gaps. I have only come across them on rare occasions but they are alarming to notice. The more easily noticeable gaps are what we call loopholes. Laws are never perfect on paper. The spirit of a law can be perfect but as soon as a law is encoded into words, gaps or loopholes appear. Companies seem to love exploiting these. More alarming are bigger gaps in between law systems. A company in one country might employ a person in another country. This person might be unaware of the laws governing his employer and not even see a need to keep those foreign laws. A company can exploit this. It can be alarming that it creates a law vacuum. All sorts of things can be done by this employee in service of the company. So lawlessness can be the gaps and exploits of them. Big money can be made this way, perhaps, so shareholder pressures can make it difficult to resist the attraction of these possibilities. If someone emerges a couple of decades from now with power coming from such things and leadership over them, it would fit the description of a Man of Lawlessness, I think.
