Genuine Christians obey the commands of God which in Christ are still like the ten commandments, including these commandments plus a new command to love one another and to live by truth, but in a new context of the body of Christ. They live according to the truth of this new reality for them, once they know the truth and have learned to obey. They obey out of their love for the Father and the Son and they enjoy fellowship with Father and Son and brothers and sisters as a result. They do not lie to brothers and sisters who are baptised into the body of Christ because they are the same body with them. Why lie to your own? They do not aggravate or vent anger sinfully on those in one body with them. They are faithful to them, not committing adultery. They let Christ be lord of the sabbath and decide for them how to keep it. They do not steal any longer, now they are in Christ, but replace stealing with hard work so they can provide for needs. They keep themselves from idols, because they have turned from idols to serve the living God. They regard the Father as the one true God, as Jesus taught, because it is the Father to whom everyone, including Jesus, and everything will be subject forever after the Millennium when Jesus hands everything over to Him, so He the Father alone is all in all. They obey the command in Christ to honour father and mother in the Lord, especially while children obeying their parents, knowing it is the first command with a promise. Those who do not do all this are haters of God and of His Christ and are cursed. This is how to live in obedience to the Lord, living by faith in his teachings. Those who live in disobedience are still under the control of Satan, Satan’s children, are not born again, and can be used by Satan to do evil. Jesus and his apostles taught these things.
