Only by following Jesus Christ can you hope to be freed from sin and have fellowship with Jesus and the Father. To follow Jesus is to adhere to his teachings. Not to substitute your ideas or other peoples’. He died for you. If we rush into things without his teachings, if we skip his teachings when they apply to our beliefs and actions and if we do our own thing and contradict his known sayings, we lose any fellowship we had with him. If we return and put his teachings into practice and learn to believe what he teaches is true, then we might find he walks by our side again. We cannot just do what we like, believe what we like, say what we like and expect to have fellowship with the Father. Without him we are doomed to die in our sins and his curse follows on after death too.
