Since Jesus had already accepted that, in the context of Psalms 82:6 ("I said, 'You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you'"), he could be called a god, he did not rebuke Thomas when Thomas said "My God" to him. Jesus understood that Thomas did not mean he was the Most High God, but recognized him as the Son of the Most High God, appointed to be judge over all.
