Those who do not recognize that everything will ultimately be subject to the Father are likely currently under subjection to Satan, similar to those who refuse to submit to the Father. People tend to be subject to one or the other. Disobedience is nearly the opposite of subjection. Rejecting the Father as the one true God and disobeying Him leads a person into subjection to Satan. Therefore, it is necessary for everyone to eventually return to subjection to the Father so that He can be the ultimate and eternal God, the all in all. Jesus will bring this about, in the future when He comes and during His thousand-year reign. Once everyone, great and small, is brought into subjection to Jesus Christ the Lord, He will then hand everything over to the Father and will Himself become fully subject to the Father forever, along with everything under His authority.
