Jesus and the Father tend to teach things we were never told in our denominational, perhaps Protestant backgrounds, or equally Catholic teaching would not tell us what God tells us and Jesus teaches. Scriptures we thought were obsolete. Doctrines nobody seems to be preaching. Behaviour which our leaders and elders would scorn. Traditions we never tend to keep, that go against the ways we are raised. But Jesus is real and will rule a thousand years soon. The Father is real and will have everything eventually subject to Him. There is no changing God. It is we who must change. We can be for Him and His teachings, or we can be against Him and His teachings. The goal we should wisely set ourselves should be fellowship with the Father and Son and with those who choose likewise. Or we can merely fit in with others who reject that highest goal.
