The dates of many of the apocalyptic events can change, at least some can, especially the earlier ones. They depend on the intercessions of the saints. People can pray and shorten the time. If the sequence of events goes on very long, it is much more painful and horrific. Like pulling off a plaster/band aid. Praying for a quick rapid succession of events, perhaps where some are delayed, would be a plea for mercy. God might hear (as Joel foretold). But the time of the last events is decided by God and does not allow for any more delay. Especially the time Christ comes finally. God knows this time already. No use praying for it to be delayed.
