When a government of a nation makes laws it ensures that the new national laws are made by the authority of the name of its head of state. Then there is authority in each new bud on a tree, each new leaf, each branch newly forming. What authority gives each new bud the right to put forth buds and leaves? The Holy Spirit has said ‘They do so by the authority of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.’ His name gives the authority for new buds to form, and even for planets to orbit stars. It is the same authority by which a bud is formed as the authority by which a new planet orbits a nearby star: The authority of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. If by this same authority the Holy Spirit manifests as gifts such as prophetic speaking in tongues and interpretation, as indeed this message was given, then it is on a par with Nature. It flows from God’s throne, by the petition to Him of the risen Lord Jesus Christ, and is directly imparted to the believer receiving it. The kingdom of God is within, given within, flowing from within.
