Every believer who believes Jesus is the light of the world and follows the light found in his teachings has in common a purpose and hope of living forever free from sin, in fellowship with Jesus, united with him in his fellowship and teachings, united with the Father in His love, and therefore united with each other through this unity with Jesus and the Father. God has given the power to Jesus His Son to bring this about, and it is all by the power of the name God has given the Lord Jesus Christ. This name has come about by the righteousness of faith and wisdom God has taught to His Son, Jesus, which enabled Jesus to suffer and die on that cross, so that redemption from sin would be given to believers, and so that God would raise Jesus from the dead to immortality, to allow Jesus to forever live to save his disciples, and have fellowship with them and to bring them all to God who is the Father, and through this fellowship, to bring them to unity with each other, to his glory. This is the eternal life he promises.
