The Dead Sea Scroll scribes were custodians, not originators, of the Book of Enoch tradition. Jesus bought into it to the extent that he and his closest leading disciples treated it as scripture and taught this with single-mindedness. Jesus strongly cautioned against ignorance of it as scripture. It prophecies were treated as scripture and authentic prophecy by the brother of Jesus, Jude. Peter too took its contents to heart as truthful. Knowing the truth as Jesus knows it, this is the goal of a believer’s discipleship bond between the believer and the teacher, the master, Lord Jesus, the Christ: Truth which frees from sin’s bond. He died for you.
