Can the Father be seen and can Jesus be touched?

According to Daniel 7 and other such passages it is a big deal to go before the Father (Ancient of Days), even for the Son. The fuss the Israelites had to make at the foot of Sinai, and the steps that had to be taken for Moses to approach the physical location of the Father is terrifying. The nature of the Father is no different in the future. Earth and sky flees from His presence. So I think it is clear nobody can see the face of the Father. Not if they are to live afterwards. Jesus can deal with this, even now. He is the mediator. Like Moses was. Personal experience leads me to believe Jesus can be seen and touched. Paul saw his glory and scales formed on his eyes which had to be miraculously removed by prayer of Ananias but Paul survived the encounter and years later Jesus stood by his side in the night and gave him strength. I had the latter experience while not having to endure the glory of seeing him. He was as human as any. Yet he can project his presence spiritually (as the Father can) and communicate spiritually directly with the innermost mind. He is glorified and immortally alive from the dead but in his own words “when the Son of Man returns” he is still very human. I believe he was human before he became flesh, hence the term “flesh” distinguishes spirit human from flesh human, but he still has flesh now. He is not a non-flesh ghost. He is flesh with spirit empowerment. So, we can touch Jesus if we ever enter heaven where he is, but we cannot approach the Father like that nor ever will do.

The Bridegoom is near

The Apostle Paul understood that acknowledging a supreme king above all gods necessitates the existence of these gods. He believed that the Father is the supreme king and that Jesus is the Son of the Father, appointed and anointed as Christ. Jesus is involved as king, with only God not being subject to him, hence the title of Lord. Post-temple Rabbinical Judaism moved away from this understanding as it sought to protect the Jewish diaspora in the Roman Empire from the requirements to worship Roman gods. Consequently, the church attempted to suppress the clear message of 1 Corinthians 8:6, aligning itself with Rabbinical Jews. This is exemplified by Jerome and Augustine, who rejected all but the Hebrew Rabbinical versions of scriptures. This shift was part of an effort to create a single, pan-Empire religion that would be acceptable to all. However, truth was not the top priority, and the Holy Spirit ceased to bless the ministries of most church leaders. Let us prepare ourselves for the Bridegroom by trimming our wicks.

Ultimate power

The Father is the greatest being in the Universe. Jesus, while having all things subject to him, will always be subject to the Father. This order of subjection - firstly, subjection of all things to the Son, and then, subjection of the Son and all things in him to the Father - means that ultimately, all things will forever be subject to the Father, the ultimate one true God.

Even now, all things in Nature are subject to the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and eventually, even his enemies will be subject to him. Apart from the Father, Jesus is the greatest being in the Universe by his power, despite being truly human. We recognize him as Lord, yet he is second only to God the Father, who is the ultimate God. Therefore, it is not inaccurate to call Jesus a mighty god-being.

The Father gives all things to Jesus out of love, and Jesus submits to the Father in all things, also out of love. This is not a philosophical ‘substance’ concept but all a matter of their love and unity.

Unity of many

Some Trinitarians and non-Trinitarians believe in a certain unity between the Father and the Son. Those who believe the Holy Spirit is a distinct personal being would possibly extend this unity to the Holy Spirit too. But for many, it ends there. Yet, it does not end there.

Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world, the sins of everyone. One died for all. The cross of Jesus Christ is thus the cross of all, and especially of all who are joined by faith and possibly by baptism to this sacrificial crucifixion. It is for all. Many accept that it is for them and become united with Jesus Christ through their acceptance of belonging to him, paid for by redemption through his blood. For these believers, there is a unity not only with him but with all others united with him, belonging to him, and bought by his blood.

The unity between the Father and the Son thus extends to many, many more than just two. The teachings of Jesus, given to him by the Father, mingle with all believers in a way that extends righteousness through Jesus Christ. The teaching is from heaven to all, ensuring that no lies are told by one to another because of this unity. All are one body. No lying is appropriate by one member of this body to another. Neither is murderous, unwarranted hatred appropriate. Righteousness stems from the truths of this unity. Forgiveness stems from the truths of being forgiven by the Father for Jesus’ sake.

Eternal life flows from this unity because Jesus Christ will raise his own from the dead at the Resurrection when he comes in power and glory. Not just two. Not just three. Many. Many are united. Many witnesses of the Father and the Son. Many living in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

Supreme position

The Son holds a supreme position by virtue of being the Son, but is not the Supreme Being (the Father, who is the ultimate, topmost being above all).

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit searches the deep things of the Father, and the Father knows the mind of the Holy Spirit.

Do you seek real faith?

Do you seek real faith? Do you listen to the word of God? You don’t have to be a prophet like Moses to listen to words of God. The scripture records God’s words too. I find listening to scripture online is easy to do these days. Bible Gateway, for example, allows listening to audio readings of all of the Bible. Do you find God works miracles you can rest your beliefs on too? That helps me through the years to get actual faith.

Hear O Israel

The true people God calls Israel love their God who is the One True God, the Father.

Biblical Unitarians

If someone upholds all of scripture and ascribes the fullest possible veracity to Jesus Christ and his apostles as the light of the world sent by the one true God, they might typically be described as Biblical Unitarians. However, this does not imply that all Biblical Unitarians fit this description. Biblical Unitarianism has a historical development that carries additional aspects not necessarily aligned with the beliefs of someone who upholds all of scripture and views Jesus Christ and his apostles in this light. Additionally, not everyone who can accurately be called a Biblical Unitarian comes from this historical background or carries its associated baggage.

The Trinity problem

The Trinity problem is not with three persons. The scriptures obviously say that. The problem is not with unity of the three persons. The scriptures obviously say that. The problem IS with how that unity is turned into a Neoplatonist concept of one being. The scriptures refute that (it is love and teachings, not a sharing of substance). The problem IS then with how that unbiblical one being gets labelled ‘God’  The scriptures obviously DO NOT say that. The Lord, Jesus Christ, gives that label to the Father. The Father gives it to Himself.

Reality Check - God becoming human?

Notice how the Father, God, through history often interacted with humans through humans, or angels, but almost never directly. There is a reason for this. In Revelation, it speaks of earth and sky fleeing the presence of God. This is similar to what happened at Mount Sinai. God melts everything when He directly interacts with Nature. Nature gives way to God always. Such is the nature of Nature. Of course, it cannot kill God. Even the Big Bang cannot kill God. God is utterly immortal spirit of the utmost immortality that is immune to all natural adversity. God does suffer to see His beloved suffer. It pains God. God is affected by any destruction of what He loves and who He loves. God did not even want to see Ninevah perish in Jonah’s time. God compared Ninevah city to the goard which grew up to shelter Jonah in the intense heat of the desert. God did not want the city to die, even more than Jonah did not want that gourd to die. How much more God must have suffered to allow His beloved, only-begotten son to die. But God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. The Father burns up what He touches because Nature cannot sustain contact with such a holy glorious spirit. Sinai caught fire when God descended on it. Even the ark of the covenant was by its close association with God untouchable. Ever watch Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark. They captured the concept. Things closely associated with such holiness kill everything nearby because natural things are unworthy of contact with the utter holiness of the immediate presence of God. Moses had to be hidden by God in a rock cleft to protect him as God passed by. Think if God did become a human. Imagine going to school with such a being sat in class. Everyone else in class would die on the first day, in the first few seconds. Imagine if someone playing with such a being in the playground threw a ball at God. The ball would catch fire but the child throwing it would have to be put to death for throwing a ball at God. Read about God descending onto Sinai. Humans and even animals which touched the mountain while God was on it had to be put to death. Such is the nature of God’s holiness. Moses and Aaron were given special permission to go up the mountain and see God. But if for a second they had seen God’s face they would have had to die. God becoming human would be the greatest horror to ever happen. It will not happen. It would be too evil a thing to happen. The Israelites pleaded not to have to interact directly with God. They asked Moses to do that for them so they did not have to bear such terror. Moses became mediator. God was interacting so closely initially with the people that they were living in terror every day. God told Moses He sympathised with the pleas of the people. He recognised they needed Moses to mediate. Since that time God started sending prophet humans instead of directly descending in front of people. Eventually God sent the greatest possible mediator, His only-begotten Son.

The Father is God

Trinitarians cannot create a shared being for God. According to Hebrews 1:3-4, the Son exactly represents the Father. The Father is the one true being, and the Son is a perfect representation of that being. There are only the Father and the Son; no additional being exists. The Father's being is singular and unique. Therefore, there is no triune God-being. The Father alone is God, and the Son is His exact representation.

Profound Oneness

The one human who is the Christ loves the One True God, who is a spirit, and the One True God loves the Christ, His Son. The One True God gives knowledge, wisdom, and everything else to the Christ. This giving and this love create a deep oneness and unity between them.

Gospel of John

John 3:35:

"The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand."

John 5:20:

"For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel."

John 10:30:

"I and the Father are one."

John 14:10-11:

"Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves."

John 17:21-23:

"That they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me."

Gospel of Matthew

Matthew 11:27:

"All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him."

Matthew 3:17:

"And behold, a voice out of the heavens said, 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.'"

Gospel of Luke

Luke 10:22:

"All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him."

Luke 3:22:

"And the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, 'You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.'"

These verses collectively support the truth that:

Jesus (the Christ) loves the Father (the One True God).

The Father loves Jesus, His Son.

The Father gives knowledge, wisdom, and all things to Jesus.

This relationship results in a profound oneness between Jesus and the Father.

Lots of false ways

Lots of false ways. John 8. Believe Jesus is the light of the world, the Son sent by the Father, then hold to his teachings. “Then you will know the truth”. A thief does not go through the door, but finds another way in.

Two Trinities?

Trinitarians tell me that the Trinity doctrines just describe what is true about Father, Son and Holy Spirit and a shared reality of God. Nice to think so, if you are convinced about it. So did you know there are two Trinities? The Eastern Orthodox Trinity and the Western tradition Trinity. They are different. How then can one or both merely describe reality? Which describes it truly? Does any describe it truly? Personally I find no support in scripture for any shared essence of God, other than shared teachings from the Father. I grew up learning the Bible long before I heard sermons on Trinity, so I am happy with the Bible and my personal experiences of Father and Son and Holy Spirit wherein the Father teaches me He alone is the one true God. Even the Son will forever be subject to the Father when he hands over the kingdom to the Father for eternity. 1 Cor 15, Rev 22.

Blinded

Satan blinds minds to the reality that soon Christ Jesus will grow to be overall power on earth but will never usurp the Father and will eventually subject to the Father his power over everything so the Father will forever be the one true God. His prayer to the Father starts with “Our Father .. Your kingdom come …” and ends with “For Yours is the kingdom and power and glory forever and ever. Amen.” Jesus says Amen to it. He teaches us to do the same.

Purest human

The Word, in flesh, became the man named Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the Most High God, and was truly human with the potential for failure. Nevertheless, he lived a perfect life, surpassing even his human ancestor King David, who had been flawless in obeying God's commands except in the matter of Bathsheba’s husband, Uriah. Jesus excelled beyond David. He was human, yet exemplified the highest potential of humanity, remaining closest to his original divine purity.

Denial

It is not just that Trinity is not biblical. It denies the biblical truth that the Son is distinct and subordinate to the Father and that the Father is the one true God. We know what scripture says about denial of Father and Son.

A word to the wise

There is both foreknowledge of God that preceded the conception of the Christ in flesh and the predestination and planning of God even before the foundation of the world. This is as also seen in Revelation 13:8, which states that the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world. The planning seems to be one aspect of the Word revealed in John chapter 1. This foreknowledge and planning seems to be along the lines of the belief of Peter in writing 1 Peter 1:20: “He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you." Peter seems to believe that this planning and foreknowledge is present before the conception as a Spirit of Christ. 1 Peter 1:11 “[prophets of old] trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow.” So the existence of the key events of the life and ministry of Christ also including the rebirth of believers is all there before the conception and even before the foundation of the world, although it takes place in time at specific points in time, such as the conception. This is all mysterious due to the perplexing power of God to see the end from the beginning and to plan and predestine things and people, especially His Son the Christ.

Coming

Soon Jesus is coming, perhaps only three or four decades from now, and he will show he is forever to be subject to the Father, and he will show that the Father alone is the one true God. What a shock it will be to most churches and leaders. Not a heresy after all. He wants us to know it now, before he comes. That is because he is the light of the world and we should be walking in the light which he himself walks in, not walking in darkness. Then we will be in fellowship with him, not building our churches on sand.

Son of David

“A body You have prepared for me.” "The flesh is weak." King David was a very spiritual man. He wrote many very spiritual psalms so full of the Holy Spirit that they occupy a major part of the scriptures. Yet one day his flesh weakness meant he fell for the wife of another man, Bathsheba wife of Uriah the Hittite. But in all other ways, despite being human flesh with that weakness, he was still able to please God even in his ways of the heart, obeying God’s commands in all things throughout all his life. God renewed the right Spirit within David even after David sinned that time. The Word did not possess human weaknesses before becoming flesh. Then, the Most High God sent out the Word, endowing the Word with a body of flesh. The Word willingly took on a body prepared by the Father, entering the realm of flesh, known for its susceptibility to failure due to weakness. And so we have Jesus. The Christ. Jesus is like David, spiritual to the extreme but weak in human flesh, but did not succumb to his weak flesh like David did. Eventually Jesus was even obedient in dying on a cross. Now alive, raised by God from the dead, alive forever, that weakness is gone forever, but he helps weak humans.

A body You have prepared for me

“A body You have prepared for me.” The Word willingly took on a body prepared by the Father, entering the realm of flesh, known for its susceptibility to failure due to weakness. "The flesh is weak."

Pharisee Blindness

The Pharisees for a long time taught that there cannot be more than one being called a god, or something like that is what people have been led to believe originally from Pharisees of Post Temple Judaism. I am not a Pharisee nor led by them so for me any number of gods can exist, but only one is the One True God, the Father. But those who follow the blind need to come up with something so they either say Jesus is God or they invent a Trinity.

Theological stance for following Jesus

If you follow teachings of Jesus and find Trinity unbiblical, you can identify as ‘Biblical Unitarian with Personal Distinctiveness’.

Friday 14 June 2024

Qualified Divinity of Jesus Christ

‘A biblical Unitarian, who maintains that only the Father is the One True God, might articulate the divinity of Jesus in a way that preserves his distinct personhood without compromising the belief in the Father's unique divinity. Here’s how they might approach it:

Agency and Representation: Jesus can be understood as God's appointed agent or representative. In biblical times, an agent (shaliach in Hebrew) carried the authority of the one who sent them. Thus, Jesus, as God's unique and ultimate agent, acts with God's authority and can be called "god" in a functional or representative sense.

Unique Sonship: Jesus is uniquely the Son of God, which denotes a special relationship and role. This does not make him ontologically identical to the Father, but it does signify a unique status and closeness to God. Biblical Unitarians might point to passages like John 10:34-36, where Jesus refers to Psalm 82:6, to suggest that the term "god" can be applied in a lesser, subordinate sense.

Exalted Status: After his resurrection, Jesus is exalted to a position of high honor and authority at the right hand of God (Acts 2:33, Philippians 2:9-11). In this exalted role, Jesus is given authority over creation and is worthy of worship in a way that is secondary and derivative, not in rivalry to the Father but in recognition of the Father's purpose and glory being fulfilled through him.

Honor and Glory: Jesus receives honor and glory that reflect the Father's honor and glory (John 5:23). This shared honor does not equate Jesus with the Father but acknowledges the unique role and position Jesus holds in God's redemptive plan.

In summary, from a biblical Unitarian perspective, Jesus can be seen as a "god" in a derivative, representative, or functional sense, reflecting his unique relationship with and commission from the Father, who alone is the One True God. This understanding maintains the distinct personhood of Jesus while affirming the primacy of the Father’s divinity.’ (ChatGPT 4o)

Understanding the Distinct Personhood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit while Affirming the Father as the One True God

Romans 8:26-27 - "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with God’s will."

In this understanding:

Intercession: The Spirit’s intercession is seen as the action of a distinct person who helps believers in their prayers.

Mind of the Spirit: The "mind of the Spirit" indicates that the Spirit has personal intellect and intention, which God, the Father, understands.

Distinctiveness: The phrase "He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit" highlights that God (the Father) understands the intentions of the Spirit, recognizing their distinct personhood while affirming the Father's unique divinity.

When compared to other scriptures:

John 14:26 and John 16:13-14: These verses describe the Holy Spirit as a distinct person who teaches and guides believers, separate from both Jesus and the Father.

Acts 5:3-4: Lying to the Holy Spirit is understood as lying to a distinct person who represents God’s presence and authority.

Ephesians 4:30: Grieving the Holy Spirit means causing sorrow to a distinct person who is intimately involved in the lives of believers.

1 Corinthians 12:11: The Spirit’s distribution of gifts is seen as the actions of a distinct person exercising will and authority.

Matthew 28:19: Baptism in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is understood as an acknowledgment of the distinct persons involved in God's work, with the Father being the One True God.

This interpretation maintains the distinct personhood of the Holy Spirit and Jesus while affirming that only the Father is the One True God.

(ChatGPT wording, but from my theological standpoint)

Lord rather than God

Jesus was ever so careful not to be called God, but only Lord. Even when all things are subjected to him, except the Father, he is still called Lord rather than God, and he calls the Father the only true God.

The Word became flesh

The Logos, the Word, was divine and existed with the Most High God, destined to become the Christ. The Word was divine in the sense of being a pure spirit, free from the limitations and weaknesses of human flesh, and immune to the pain of temptation. The Word did not possess human weaknesses or failures before becoming flesh. Then, the Most High God sent out the Word, endowing the Word with a body; a body of flesh that the Word willingly took on, entering the realm of flesh, known for its susceptibility to failure due to weakness. "The flesh is weak." Distinct from the Most High God, the Word became the only-begotten offspring of the Most High God at the moment of conception, on receiving a body of flesh from God.

This makes him the ideal mediator between a perfectly holy God and weak, failing humanity. He became a sacrifice for humanity, purifying his disciples from their sins by dying on the cross in perfect obedience, despite being the perfect human. He lived in a way his disciples could emulate by believing in him, internalizing his teachings, and receiving knowledge of the truth from Jesus the Christ. His unity with both the Most High God and his disciples was due to the spiritual words of the Most High God that he taught to his disciples, continued through the Holy Spirit during and after Pentecost. The disciples could and must live this way to be children of God. The words, teachings, and spirit are like an inner gyroscope constantly working within each person who embraces them, continually correcting and keeping them upright in their lives, maintaining a heavenly uprightness that pleases God and is acceptable to humanity, thus creating an inner unity of spirit shared by all. Living this way, they have Jesus' promise of eternal life. God raised His Son from the dead a few days after the crucifixion, and He can also raise the disciples who are worthy.

Now alive from the dead, Jesus possesses more of his former glorious Godlikeness, no longer constrained by the weaknesses he had before his death. This transformation will also occur for those he raises to eternal life. The Lord Jesus will then sit upon his Father’s throne until all enemies, along with all others, all except the Father Himself, are made subject to him. The Father, the Most High God, his God, ensures this. After everything is subjected to him, he will, in turn, be subject forever to God his Father. God will be all in all. This is why Jesus calls his Father, his God, the only true God.

A warning to all preachers

Are you sure you are not preaching a different gospel to one gospel the apostles preached? Are you safe in doing so? I would not ever want to declare safe any gospel that the apostles did not preach. See how Paul warned of a heavenly curse on those who preach a different gospel, even if angels were preaching it, or Paul himself. This is not safe. A curse from God can continue even beyond the grave and follow you through eternity. Do not risk it!

See Galatians 1:6-9 “I am amazed how quickly you are deserting the One who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse! As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be under a curse!”

The Word of the Only True God

The ‘Logos’, the Word, was Godlike and was WITH the Most High God and was set apart for becoming Christ. The human weaknesses and tendency to fail was not characteristic of this Word before becoming flesh. Then this Word was sent out by the Most High God, and given a body. This immediately put the Word into a different category, the category of flesh with its reputation for failing due to weakness. “The flesh is weak.” Distinct from the Most High God, he was only made literally the only-begotten offspring of the Most High God by conception when a body was given to him. The Word becoming in flesh the man named Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the Most High God, the Word of the Most High God, was truly flesh and truly human with propensity for failing, yet he lived a perfect life, even more perfect than human ancestor King David who had been faultless in obeying God and commands of God except in the matter of Bathsheba’s husband Uriah. Jesus did better. Human yet the best a human could be and the closest to his former form of Godlike purity. This makes him ideal as mediator between perfect holy God and failing weak man. He became a sacrifice for man, to purify disciples from their sins. Dying on a cross, in perfected obedience, despite being human. He lived as his disciples could learn to live, by believing, having his teachings within them and being given knowledge of the truth by Jesus the Christ. His unity with both the Most High God and with his disciples was due to spirit words of the Most High God given to him to teach to his disciples (continued via the Holy Spirit during and after the Pentecost event). The disciples could live that way and must do so to be children of God. The words, teachings, spirit, are like an inner gyroscope constantly working within each one who has them, correcting them constantly, keeping them upright in their lives in the same heavenly uprightness, thus giving an inner unity of spirit shared by all. This is what is shared, and living this way they have promise from Jesus of eternal life. God raised His Son from the dead only a few days after the crucifixion by which Jesus the Son died. God can raise the disciples too, those worthy of it. Now alive from the dead, Jesus has more of his former glorious Godlikeness, no longer limited by weaknesses he had before his death. This will be the same for those he will raise, eternally. Then the Lord Jesus will sit upon his Father’s throne until all enemies are made subject to him along with all others except the Father, God. God his God makes it so. Then after all things are subjected to him, he in turn will be subject forever to God his Father. God will be all in all. That is why Jesus calls his Father, his God, the only true God.

Logos

The ‘Logos’, the Word, was Godlike and was WITH the Most High God and was set apart and was sent out by the Most High God, becoming subsequently in flesh the man named Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the Most High God, the Word of the Most High God. In all this he is distinct from the Most High God and only made literally the only-begotten offspring of the Most High God by conception when a body was given to him. His unity with both the Most High God and with his disciples is solely due to spirit words of the Most High God given to him to teach to his disciples (continued via the Holy Spirit during and after the Pentecost event). The words, teachings, spirit, are like an inner gyroscope constantly working within each one who has them, correcting them constantly, keeping them upright in their lives in the same heavenly uprightness, thus giving an inner unity of spirit shared by all. This is what is shared, not a consubstantial being, hence no Trinity and no Pentecostal Oneness.

Supporting verses from the Gospel of John (listed by ChatGPT 4o)

The following passages collectively affirm the theological concepts of unity, spiritual life through Jesus' words, and the interconnectedness between the Father, the Son, and the disciples.

God's words of spirit given through His Son and apostles:

John 6:63: "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life."

Principles of righteousness, pure living, and power in Jesus' words:

John 8:31-32: "To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, 'If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'"

John 15:3: "You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you."

Unity among those who embrace Jesus' teachings:

John 17:20-23: "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."

Oneness between the Father and the Son, the Son and the disciples, and among the disciples:

John 10:30: "I and the Father are one."

John 15:4-5: "Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

John 14:20: "On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you."

Jesus working within and alongside those united in spirit:

John 14:12: "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."

John 15:7: "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."

Answered prayers through unity and righteous living:

John 15:16: "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."

John 16:23-24: "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete."

Life-giving words of Jesus:

John 6:68: "Simon Peter answered him, 'Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.'"

John 5:24: "Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life."

No small undertaking

God’s words, delivered through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and his apostles, unite those who embrace them through principles of righteousness, pure living, and the inherent power and soundness of mind in those teachings. Anyone who embraces these teachings and the spirit within them is united with their teacher, who is, in turn, united with God and His Son. There is no need for any additional shared being beyond this unity. The teachings of Oneness Pentecostal modal oneness or the Trinitarian consubstantial divine being are unnecessary and corrupting philosophies. The latter has been enforced in my country across Churches Together member churches. Reversing this philosophical error would be a significant undertaking. The previous history of theological rulings only adds to the legacy that needs correcting. Hymns, choruses, canonical church laws, liturgies, study courses, church seminary courses and exams, catechisms, baptismal formulae, literature, and perhaps even secular laws and politics, are all impacted. It is a system with many interdependent parts, so changing one part necessitates changes in many others. Additionally, qualified clergy, lay preachers, teachers of children, and administrators all need to learn new doctrine, or rather, the original doctrine taught by Jesus Christ and his apostles, purified of disruptive philosophies: all in reverence to Jesus Christ and his anointing.

True Unity where no other is needed

God’s words of spirit given through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ and his apostles bring together those who embrace them through the principles of righteousness, pure living, and the power and soundness of mind inherent in those words. Everyone who has these words, these teachings, the spirit of these words, is united with their teacher who is in turn united with God and His Son. This produces the same oneness between the Father and the Son, the Son and the disciples, and among the disciples themselves. The Lord Jesus can work within and alongside those united in this way, just as the Father can work within and alongside the Son. Prayers can be answered through this unity of spirit and righteous living. These are wise words, spiritually uniting words, and teachings of life-giving words. There is no need for any further shared being than is found in this oneness.

Repentance and its ramifications

Orthodoxy and Trinitarianism teaches ‘consubstantial divine being’ and needs to repent. (I probably have other things to repent of by God’s grace. I do not want to exalt myself in this.) But think what an overhaul would be needed in so many areas, even in politics, if they all repented. Hymns need changing. (Holy, holy, holy is such a nice hymn). Canonical laws. Liturgies. Creeds. Even secular laws. Maybe war could result. But it is either that or having to keep on with falsehood as the public starts to realise it is false, especially when Christ comes and shows in no uncertain terms he will forever be subject to the Father, his God, the one true God.

True Unity

The kind of unity that counts and pleases God is a unity based on words of spirit from Him. It unites those who receive it by the principles of righteousness and pure living and the power to live it and soundness of mind that are in those words of spirit. Everyone who has those words is united with their teacher. Such is the oneness between Father and Son. Such is the oneness between Son and disciples. Such is the oneness between disciples. The Lord Jesus can work within and alongside those with whom he is united in this way. The Father can work within and alongside the Son in this way. Prayers can be answered in this way because of this kind of unity of spirit of righteous living.  Wise words. Spiritually uniting words. Teachings of life-giving words.

Trinitarianism in a nutshell

Trinitarianism is the inability to accept the truth the scriptures tell us, that the Son is a distinct and subordinate entity to the Father. 1 Cor 15, Rev 22.

The Son is a distinct and subordinate entity to the Father

Somehow the Nicea Trinitarians felt it was heresy to say, as apostles had said, that “the Son was a distinct and subordinate entity to the Father”. This is precisely what the scriptures tell us: the Son is a distinct and subordinate entity to the Father. 1 Cor 15, Rev 22. I think they wanted to have one being instead of two to appease the Rabbinical Pharisees.

Father and Son

His identity is not that of the Father but, at a personal level, since the Father is not a human nor ever died and risen like the Son, everything that the Father is, the Son is. Yet only the Father is the One True God, because even the Son will forever be subject to the Father.

Departure from the simplicity of Christ

What do they mean when they tell us to say in churches “one being with the Father”, regarding the Son? It is not the innocent concept they make it out to be. It is an unscriptural concept. It does not mean ‘one in principles and purposes’. It means a shared identity. That is contradictory to scripture - the Son does not share a common identity with the Father. It is a distortion of scriptures such as Heb 1:3. It gets confusing when you see an explanation of this. ChatGPT: “The term "hypostasis" in Hebrews 1:3, when understood in the context of Trinitarian theology, does not imply that the Son shares the same personal identity as the Father. Instead, it indicates that the Son is the exact representation of the Father's being, fully embodying the divine essence while remaining a distinct person. Thus, there is a sharing of divine being (essence) but not of personal identity (hypostasis), maintaining both the unity and distinction within the Trinity. This understanding aligns with the traditional interpretation of the Nicene Creed and the biblical witness to the nature of the relationship between the Father and the Son.” This is not the simplicity of Christ. ‘The phrase "one being with the Father" (in Greek, "homoousios tō Patri") means that the Son (Jesus Christ) shares the same divine essence or substance as the Father. ‘ [ChatGPT] But what do they mean by essence or substance (ousia)? Such terms are not often applied to persons. I suppose the philosophical Neoplatonist concept might be along the sane lines as if we were to say that the essence of a king is his royalty. His royal essence or royal substance is that which makes him a king.

Spirit of the Christ

It seems to me that when God plans for something glorious to occur to glorify Him, He instills a spirit in it and designates it for a predestined moment when it will manifest and bring that glory into existence. The spirit that was meant to bring Christ into existence existed before Abraham was born, had glory, and was with God before the world began. God set apart this spirit to be with Him and, at the predetermined time, to be revealed as the Christ, in a human body, as the Son of God.

Only the Father

Only the Father will end up eternally with everyone and everything subject to Him.

The weak point of the Trinity dogma

The weak point of the Trinity dogma lies in the idea of "same essence," "shared essence," or "one being." This notion can be seen as a philosophical sleight of hand. According to Hebrews 1:3, the Son embodies the qualities or essence (Greek: hypostasis) of the Father. However, if these qualities or essence existed independently within the Son, separate from the Father, they would cease to be a reflection of the Father's qualities. Thus, they cannot be considered "shared" or singularly the "same essence."

Future Rule

Jesus, the Lord, will guide the world into an increasing submission to himself, likely starting fully within the next thirty to forty years. After a thousand years, he will bring everything and everyone, once fully subject to him, into his own submission to God the Father. This will be followed by eternity with God the Father being all in all.

God knows the heart

The apostles understood that tricksters are enemies of righteousness. Trickery undermines proper action by offering seemingly alternative solutions to problems that should be addressed through right action or belief. There are always those who, through deception, lead potentially righteous individuals away from the path of righteousness. Cult leaders are potentially an example of this. How can we discern whether a leader is a deceitful trickster intent on sabotaging the ways of light and distorting the purity of the Word of God? We might recognize it, or we might not. The apostles were mindful of this when selecting a replacement for Judas Iscariot. They asked God, who knows the heart of everyone.

Miracles and the Mediator

As Jesus was teaching about miracles, he mentioned that his disciples and those who truly believed in him would do what he was doing and even greater. The reason he gave for even greater works may shed light on his mediator work ongoing in heaven, mediating with the Father for humans. He said the works and greater works of disciples would be because he goes to the Father. What is his logic? Assuming he expected this to be understood, the most obvious reason would be that the Father is really the miracle worker (John 10) and the miracle takes faith for the disciple to involve the love and power of the Father. And, since Jesus would be out of sight, even greater miracles would be needed to show his light to the world. Jesus knows the Father like nobody else knows Him and not only knows what pleases Him but is able to please and find with the Father. With Jesus at the Father’s side, he can intercede for a disciple working a miracle to bring to bear the full love and power and wisdom of the Father to bring about even the greatest of miracles, greater than those of Jesus in his gospel ministry. We need to know that we are just as capable of faith and miraculous works because Jesus was truly like us in doing what he so famously did. It is all about faith and the Father’s good will and good pleasure, and walking in the light, working by the light of the world, Jesus His Son sent by Him.

King above all gods

“The King above all gods.“ He can claim things no-one else can claim and is king above all gods. Ultimately even the Son will be subject to Him forever. Then this God will be all in all.

Light to live by

The Son imitates the Father and is a human copy of the qualities of the Father. For light to live by, we should see the Son and this way see the Father. How do we see the Son?

Think why the Son Jesus might be called a son

Think why the Son, Jesus, might be called a son. The father does not become a son. A son is from an offshoot of a father. The father’s attributes are usually found in the son. The son has them from the father. The son does not have them completely independent of the father. They are a copy of the father’s attributes. Yet each has their own set of these attributes of the father. They do not share a single copy between them. The father has the attributes and the son has a copy of them. The son and father might be very close and have the same kinds of goals and purpose, yet each is an individual with their own will and life. When they give testimony they might agree in their testimonies but each testimony counts as one. Each witness counts as one. So they can provide two independent valid testimonies were that ever required legally.

The philosophy trick

Trinity dogma’s weak point is the concept of “same essence”, “shared essence”, “one being”. It is a philosophy trick. The Son is a representation of the qualities/essence (Greek: hypostasis) existing in the Father (Hebrews 1:3), but if those were qualities/essence which the Son had in his own right, even independent of the Father, they would no longer be a representation of the Father’s qualities/essence. So they are not ‘shared’. They are not singularly the “same essence”. It is just adding insult to injury to go further and effectively call the cleverly invented “same essence” ‘God’.
