The Bridegoom is near

The Apostle Paul understood that acknowledging a supreme king above all gods necessitates the existence of these gods. He believed that the Father is the supreme king and that Jesus is the Son of the Father, appointed and anointed as Christ. Jesus is involved as king, with only God not being subject to him, hence the title of Lord. Post-temple Rabbinical Judaism moved away from this understanding as it sought to protect the Jewish diaspora in the Roman Empire from the requirements to worship Roman gods. Consequently, the church attempted to suppress the clear message of 1 Corinthians 8:6, aligning itself with Rabbinical Jews. This is exemplified by Jerome and Augustine, who rejected all but the Hebrew Rabbinical versions of scriptures. This shift was part of an effort to create a single, pan-Empire religion that would be acceptable to all. However, truth was not the top priority, and the Holy Spirit ceased to bless the ministries of most church leaders. Let us prepare ourselves for the Bridegroom by trimming our wicks.
