Think why the Son, Jesus, might be called a son. The father does not become a son. A son is from an offshoot of a father. The father’s attributes are usually found in the son. The son has them from the father. The son does not have them completely independent of the father. They are a copy of the father’s attributes. Yet each has their own set of these attributes of the father. They do not share a single copy between them. The father has the attributes and the son has a copy of them. The son and father might be very close and have the same kinds of goals and purpose, yet each is an individual with their own will and life. When they give testimony they might agree in their testimonies but each testimony counts as one. Each witness counts as one. So they can provide two independent valid testimonies were that ever required legally.
