A sonship relationship with God is by persuasion of faith from hearing the gospel message given by God, through those sent. God sent Jesus and John the Baptist to preach and teach the message, and Jesus in turn sent Paul. What is so important is how so very well the Father and Son, God and Jesus, know each other. That is why it is so important to not only believe in Jesus but to learn and hold to his teachings. This is how to know the truth, which includes knowledge Jesus has about the Father, and knowledge the Father has of His Son Jesus.
