Daniel 7 is alluded to in the following passage in Revelation. “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” Rev 13:1-2. From Daniel 7 we see the background to this. The sea in the case of the Daniel 7 is Assyrian turmoil preceding the rise of the first of the four empires. Babylon. The Lion. Then came Persia, the Bear. Then Macedonia to Leopard. Revelation 13 shows a combination of all three. It again will rise from the sea, probably troubles in Syria. Then comes a fourth empire, the dragon, Rome having ten kings, the ten monarchies of Europe instigated by Rome. Then a little monarchy, the Antichrist. But it seems to all start with troubles in Syria. That brings us to today. My opinion.
