As a child, when your mother told you to tidy your bedroom before your father got home from a long trip, you knew you had better do it. A child who repeatedly refuses such instructions might end up in big trouble. Jesus is coming soon. We might have enough time to tidy up our mess, get rid of doctrines we were warned not to formulate, and generally put things right before he comes. If there is just a couple of decades of peace to be had before the Revelation wrath begins and work becomes impossible we should use it. Ignoring this opportunity would be like the child refusing to tidy their bedroom. That won’t end well.
