The Son and the Spirit of God

“And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.” — Jesus Christ

The Son of Man made it clear He and the Holy Spirit are truly distinct beings by pointing out the absolute distinction between blaspheming Himself and blaspheming the Holy Spirit. If they were one deity together and one being and one substance then blaspheming Him would actually be blaspheming the Holy Spirit too. But it isn’t. So they’re not the same single being and deity. Ref Matthew 12:31-33.

Trinity-teachers

TEACHERS OF THE TRINITY

There is not a heavenly Trinity club or society with three members - if there was then Jesus would have told His disciples so. Everything Jesus did teach them emphasised that He would include them in everything. There was no indication from Him that there was a special group with room for three members only. Those who do the will of God - only these will be saved - so best to only teach what God wants taught.

Cities of Angels

CITIES OF ANGELS

Could the ancient great cities of Enoch’s time and people actually have been founded by angels?

The Sumerians including Enoch and Noah were apparently using two main words for angelic heavenly beings - Anunna and Anunna-Ki. Anunna meant “sons of God” and the custom of associating a name or word with a city was to add the suffix KI so Anunna-Ki might be Anunna who were associated with a city. Indeed most if not all great cities of the time in Sumer (Iraq and Iran) before the Flood had heavenly beings associated with them just like Jerusalem has long been associated with God. So maybe these cities as ancient writings of Noah’s time claim, were indeed founded by individual angels. In theory this might be why after the Flood people mainly resettlled the same sites as the destroyed cities and built over the flood deposits as archaeology shows with cities like Ur and Shurrapak and Eridu and Nippur. They might have believed only an angel should found a city and the angelic providence assured them to be safe settling in that place. So this might also be why ziggurats (predecessors of pyramidal structures worldwide) were built as temples in cities to house their patron angels because this way the angel would bless its city. So we might have here the origin of national gods - founders of a nation’s main cities and therefore protectors too. This in Israel became denoted by the word Elohim. Only Yahweh was to be Israel’s Elohim. No others before Him. To Enoch this God was known not just as God but as the Lord of Spirits. Perhaps this was the origin of the deity name Enlil meaning Lord Spirit. Later in Israel this might become Lord of Hosts.

Miss it miss out

You can be in error if you miss out on knowing the Book of Enoch as the Messiah taught:

Matthew 22:29 ‘Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.”’

The next verse shows He meant the Book of Enoch. It is the only scripture that teaches what Jesus said next:

“At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.”

Only the Book of Enoch, of all scriptures known at that time Jesus was speaking, teaches that angels are not meant to marry.

Have faith in God

The Messiah says “Have faith in God” then explains and shows how God acts on our behalf if we speak in faith to command nature and do not doubt. This draws attention to two things in particulat about the Father - His love towards us and His power to reach us and our environment. The Father must have powet and ways and means to immediately hear our words of faith and our prayers of faith in Him. He must have love towards us constsntly to do this. He must have power and love to make our prayers and words of faith come to pass. His name is all about this too - love and power and coning to pass. The Son demonstrates this Himself by the miracles He does by faith in the Father’s love and powet. This faith of the Son results in salvation as His own name expresses. It resulted in Lazarus rising from the dead. And many such things too numerous to mention. Still He works this way today. I’ve seen it and surely many have. Putting into practice His words of assurance leads to doing as He too has done and greater things now He is with the Father. God is looking to have offspring who do the things His Son does so God can call us sons of God.

Agency

The Son came *in the Father’s name* - so much so He came with all the characteristics of the Father and all of His teachings and His works to do - so He mirrors God - just as in the beginning (John 1:1), when He was the Word, all that God was, He was

Sidestep the twisted interpretations

The Book of Enoch helps me sidestep some extremely dangerous trinitarian interpretations of scripture by showing more clearly the true interpretations of scriptures which interpret and build on the Book of Enoch. If people change the meaning of the words of Jesus/Yeshua “Except you believe that I am he you will die in your sins” to be trinitarian (saying it means to believe Jesus/Yeshua is God) they lose the true meaning and that leads to fortfeiting salvation. He had just been telling them about the Son of Man so He clearly meant you must believe that He is the Son of Man - the Messiah. If you do not believe that He is the Son of Man you will die in your sins. What is more valuable - 1. being trinitarian but dying in your sins or 2. believing in the Son of Man and being saved from your sins by Him? “If the Son shall make you free you shall be free indeed”.

The teachings of Azazel from ancient times when this angel fell and taught humans the weaponry and metal working skills to use metals for personal protective shields and attack and defense weapons such as maces and swords and the teachings persisting among humans in using metal cars and bicycles and guns and knives to protect while cunningly getting the edge on neighbours it is all like foxes that spoil the vines in the vineyard and the Christ will remove these things when He comes in great power and glory.

The Resurrection and the Life

THE RESURRECTION

It was always one thing that God responded to His Son in love by hearing His invocations of God. But to respond without any possible invocation is another more profound indication of love and favour that could only be demonstrated by the Son dying so He cannot call on God then God raising Him from the dead without any invocation.

A Better Path for Monotheism

Trying to control the narrative of names of God and their meanings is one way many monotheists try to achieve the will of God today but is only second best. The Messiah indeed has power to bring things all under His control and so establish the Kingdom of God. However the better way is that people love God enough to make Him their one god - their entire Elohim. This love was promoted by the Messiah dying on a cross. Proclaiming it helps establish this love in people’s hearts and open their hearts to the Holy Spirit shining into them the knowledge of the nature of God and His holiness.

Confused about God?

Many are confused about what it means to be God or a god. A god is a heavenly being. One heavenly being is higher than all the others and is known for fatherliness. There were cities which made certain heavenly beings their patrons and all such patrons were called the gods of a nation. They recognised one Most High God existed but got confused about which god was supreme. This one supreme God was singled out by Himself as God when in ancient times He commanded the Israelites - descendants of His friend Abraham - to only count Him as national god (Elohim). The Son of Man is the one son of this fatherly supreme God and was so before any other heavenly beings existed so the Son of Man is firstborn. He is therefore a heavenly being - a god - but fully human. He is not the Most High God but is Son (firstborn Son) of the Most High God.

Before and After

“Before Abraham was born, I am” — Jesus Christ (Gospel of John 8).

If Jesus had only begun life just before His birth, then, when He rose from the dead, how could anyone have strong confidence He would live forever and stay righteous forever? And without such confidence how could anyone trust Him to keep them righteous and alive before His Father forever?

When judgement is in the air and an angel is poised to deliver, say, a fresh bout of ebola to the masses, we who love the believers would say “Wait! The sacrifice of Messiah is for the world and especially the believers! Do not dish out judgement until some sort of protection is distributed to those who deserve protection who are worthy of it. Seal them first!” This is what is going on in heaven and in prayers on earth. When it comes to the severest judgements it will be from Israel only 144,000 sealed but maybe many Gentiles too.

2060 AD

The Book of Enoch chapters 89-90 describe a series of seventy angelic shepherds to whom God handed over Israelites from the time of the Assyrian conquest of Israel up until the present time. It seems likely that the period of each shepherd’s term is forty years which fits with the description of the first 35 terms of rule of these angel shepherds.

The Book of Enoch Chapter 90:1-5 covers terms 35-58 which fits with around 670 AD to 1580 AD: The suffering inflicted on righteous Israelis under Islam and Europe and Russia. 

The Book of Enoch Chapter 90 verses 6-12, beyond 1580 AD and focus on the end of this time in particular leading up to our time and then beyond up to 2060 AD.

The Book of Enoch Chapter 90 verses 13-19 seem to cover the period after the appearance of the great leader, the ram or he-goat, then continuing after that for thirty to forty years, the last term of the seventy, the term of the last angelic shepherd.

Book of Enoch chapter 90 verses 13-19 leads up to the Judgement in chapter 90 verses 20 onwards, so it might be that verse 18 is the second coming of Messiah; possibly verse 15 too.

Seventy forty year terms starting around 730 BC (Assyrian conquests) using Enoch’s 364-day year and converting to our 365.25-day years put the end of these terms at 2060 AD.

Then in further chapters of the Book of Enoch, chapters 93 and 91, Enoch described the plans of God he saw in heaven. Here is how they fit with history:

Elohim

This is how I understand the usage of the word Elohim in the scriptures. Originally Enoch (Idris), Noah and everyone religious in their times were probably what is called Tengrists, followers of Tengri, then called Dingri, also called An, later called El. Then idolatry muddied the water and it became normal to ignore the supreme heavenly being (Most High) and make invocations more to other heavenly beings and even to eartly entities too. The gods people worshipped depended where they lived, especially the nearest city and temple because cities and temples had patron heavenly beings. So the divisions of patron worship grew and grew as more cities were founded. A nation might collect all these patron deities of its cities and their temples into a national kind of pantheon - and Elohim - and so these collections were on regional lines. So Egypt had its gods - its Elohim - and Cush had its gods and Ugarit had its gods and Hittites had their gods and there was some overlap though names had regional variations of spelling. These people all still believed one god was supreme but the understanding of which god is supreme was muddled. Usually they just used a name which meant whichever god is supreme - that God. Only later with Abraham and then Moses did the supreme god clarify things by making Himself known.

Cosmic Ripstop

Ripstop is a type of fabric into which are woven intermitten threads of extra-strong material which keep the fabric from tearing and ripping as normal fabric would do. The fabric of the universe was under threat of tearing when angels sinned against their nature and archangels asked to strengthen it using the name of the Lord Jesus the Son of Man the Anointed One, the Salvation of God. So the oath that upholds all things was interwoven with this name and so in this name all things hold together; this name invoked before anything else but God and His firstborn existed.

The Similitudes

SIMILITUDES

One part of the Book of Enoch is a set of three sections called The Similitudes or The Parables. Fragments of the Book of Enoch found among the Dead Sea Scrolls dating from before and during and after the earthly time of the Messiah do not as yet include any fragments from this section of the Book of Enoch leading some to doubt this section’s true antiquity and authenticity. Yet within this sections is chapter 49 which seems to have been referred to by the Messiah when teaching about the Holy Spirit being like a spring of water (John 7:38 and see also John 4). No scriptures contain such a metaphor except this chapter of the Book of Enoch Parables (Similitudes) section. So this is good evidence of the existence and high regard of this section during the Messiah’s times.

Metals and Colours

The use of metals to protect ourselves which of course endangers others and ultimately endangers everyone including ourselves, and provides a culture in which violence can increase; the use of colourful chemicals to brighten up our lives and overbrighten them which ultimately provides a culture in which promiscuity can increase; these things started around 3300 BC and have continued and increased since then. Archaeology shows all this and it was the background to the original writings found in the Book of Enoch which explains it as the result of Azazel an angel mixing with humans to gain a human wife and teaching things to humans better kept to angels alone. So archaeology backs up these things with evidence from around 3300 BC in Mesopotamia spreading from there. Then the veracity of the account details which passed through the ages is verified by the Messiah, the Son of Man, Jesus preaching teachings consistent with the Book of Enoch and teaching that those writings are Scripture (as evidenced in the Gospel of John 7:38 and the Book of Enoch 49).

Of these all the thirsty drank, and were filled with wisdom, having their habitation with the righteous, the elect, and the holy.” John 7:38 is probably Jesus quoting not just Enoch 48:1 but all of Enoch 49 too

Book of Enoch 49

Dingir

Why did God appear to the Israelites in Moses’ time as a very bright light in the sky? The Sumerians (of whom Enoch was a prominent leader around 3000 BC) had a word for God which is written as a star (asterisk) symbol, pronounced either as AN or as DINGIR. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dingir This last way of saying “God” - Dingir - has persisted throughout subsequent history even up until modern times in the form Tingir in the oriental parts of the world. The translation of these people of this word for God into English is Eternal Sky and associated with they phrase regarding God, The Eternal Blue Sky. The Sumerian symbol of the star asterisk Dingir was very much associated with the sky, the high heavens. So the appearance of God as a bright light in the daytime sky must have evoked the most widely understood concept of the supreme, most high God, in the ancient world.

Thousands of years later another great light in the sky was seen when the hater of Christians Saul of Tarsus was struck with blindness on the road to Damascus from Jerusalem by the light of the Messiah. The appearance of Jesus to Saul (who became Apostle Paul) associated this Messiah, this Christ Jesus, with the sky too and so the awareness started of the sky being associated with both Almighty God the Father and Lord Jesus Christ the Son and this would continue and spread worldwide even to this present day.

Why is the Son of Man called the Son of Man?

Why in the Book of Enoch and the Book of Daniel is the Son of Man called the Son of Man? In Daniel 7 to 11 there are several heavenly beings called “a man” but they are not human beings but angels; archangels. In chapter 7 there is just one who is called a Son of Man; because He is not an angel looking like a man but looks like He actually is a real man. So this is the Messiah’s meaning when He calls Himself the Son of Man; He means He is this Son of Man who Daniel and Enoch saw.

Original Written Words for God

THE MOST ANCIENT WORDS FOR GOD

Aside from heiroglyphics the closest extant (actual cuneiform tablets) writings we have to the time of Enoch are the Temple Hymn of Kesh https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kesh_temple_hymn and the Instructions of Sharappak https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instructions_of_Shuruppak. These texts are both religious in nature, like scripture, and one uses the word or name EN.LIL for God (the supreme heavenly being) and the other uses the word or name UTU. The uses of these names in literature show clear similarities with references to God in the Book of Enoch and other scriptures so it is plausible that they are references to the same supreme heavenly being. The Temple Hymn of Kesh praises God using the name or title EN.LIL whose meaning is like the translation we have in English of the title in the Book of Enoch “Lord of Spirits”. It could mean Supreme Spirit. The content of these praises is consistent with it being about the same God in other religious writings and scriptures such as those in the Bible. Likewise the Utu mentioned in the Instructions of Sharappak seems to be referring to God.

Anunna, Anunnaki and An

“Anunna” is the Sumerian and Akkadian original word for the many angels, sons of An, God. “An” meant heavenly being generally but there was one heavenly being whose name was Heavenly Being (An). So they called God “An” and angels “Anunna” (sons of God). Now the top angels, especially the top seven who were with God in the Underworld places where God only allowed some to go, were called “Anunnaki”. It is apparent how this word might eventually have become “arch-angels” - Anunna-ki. Yet the “ki” (𒆠) means earth. So originally these were the sons of God on earth perhaps. They preside over all matters concerning the earth and are those allowed to stand before the Heavenly Being Himself.

What is Sin?

WHAT IS SIN?

In John 8 is one of the last public sermons of the Messiah before His crucifixion and so it figures He would focus it on the most important aspects of His message. His emphasis about what is sin is on lying and murderous hating. He says these are characteristics of Satan. Then His last message in Revelation after He rose and ascended is in chapter 22 on the main sins that will keep people constantly committing them out of the holy city of God. The words of the Messiah there mirror the words of God the Father in chapter 21:8. The sinfulness of lying appears again with a qualification in 21:8 that “all kinds of liars” are implicated. Murder appears too. Now there are additional sinful ways of life mentioned - looking up the meanings of the Greek terms is interesting. Sorcery means plant uses for drugs and potions and not just incantations and spells. So drug pushing and possibly even medicinally is part of what this means. Then what is translated as idolatry is a matter of renting out your worship-life for wages - paid worship. There is cowardice and doubt - the equivalent of what used to be called FUD “fear, uncertainty, doubt”. There is sexual immorality which is included by the word we translate as porn but the original word means a male prostitute or gigolo. We might sum a lot of this up as vice. Lowlife living. Sleaziness. Ethically unsound behaviour. In a modern world people sanitise it in corporations and hide it from the Law but God sees it for what it is and will destroy one day all who practice it. John 8 says how to be free forever from it in our lives - the Son setting us free if we believe Him and hold to His teachings.

The Seven Archangels

Book of Tobit 12:15 ‘“I am Raphael, one of the seven holy angels, which present the prayers of the saints, and which go in and out before the glory of the Holy One.”’ 

Gospel of Luke 1:18-20 ‘Zechariah said to the angel, “What proof is there for this? I’m an old man, and my wife is beyond her childbearing years.” The angel answered him, “I’m Gabriel! I stand in God’s presence. God sent me to tell you this good news. But because you didn’t believe what I said, you will be unable to talk until the day this happens. Everything will come true at the right time.”’

Of all the angels it is the seven foremost archangels who have the honour of ministering in the very throne chamber of Almighty God, hence what Gabriel told Zechariah the father of John the Baptist and what Raphael told Tobit. So you don’t want to be ignoring or disrespecting or disbelieving one of these archangels. Surely that applies to writings of their words too, such as in scriptures some have the boldness to call ‘apocryphal’ as if to rashly say such scriptures can be safely ignored.

It was among some of these seven archangels that the Son of Man was revealed in the visions seen by the prophet Daniel. This Son of Man was among these who could enter into the throne chamber of God.

Sons of God (Part 2)

Regarding the chief angels it was written “All of you are sons of the Most High” Psalm 82:6

Constantinian Christians stripped out the supernatural meaning of Psalm 82 verse 6 and substituted their prefered Trinitarianism philosophical ideas which fitted with Greek and Roman philosophies and theologies. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psalm_82  But the roots of Genesis and Job reveal the ancient worldview that was taught by Noah. The Book of Enoch being translated into English has helped improve the original understanding of the archangels as sons of God and what it means to be a son of God. Sumerian texts from Noah’s time have highlighted how ancient the “sons of God” reference is in Genesis 6 and how Genesis’ flood narrative ties so tightly to ancient texts influenced by Noah himself such as the Epic of Gilgamesh. These are a foundation to the proper meaning of the Messiah when He spoke about being a son of God like other sons of God, deities.

Sons of God

The term “sons of God” has many meanings. Archangels are called sons of God and have been throughout human history. Archangels have throughout history been considered deities. So sons of God almost equates to deities. There is more to sons of God - there is ranking and relative eminence. There has always been a hierarchy. Four archangels are at the corners of the throne of God’s glory and this gives them eminence over other archangels. There are then seven wellknown archangels considered an inner circle of topmost angels. Then there are watchers including these seven but extended to other angels and archangels. There are many many watchers. This is how scriptures and other sacred texts and revelations have explained sons of God since the times of Noah till today. Then on top of this for the Son of Man to say that believers in Himself have power to become sons of God paints a glorious picture. The question then is how these new sons of God fit in with the others; with their hierarchy. One consideration is pre-eminence; the pre-eminence of those who were sons of God earlier. Angelic sons of God were there earlier than humans. Yet the firstborn of the sons of God, the Son of Man, was there first; the first son of God. The other consideration is about association and unity with this firstborn. Sons of God made so by faith in the Firstborn are the latest additions to the family but are not least because they are united with the first son of God. Over aeons in the future the distinction of pre-eminence might look less and less significant but the truth will ever remain of the connection between these human, soon to be resurrected, sons of God and their firstborn elder brother, all, like the Son of Man, their head, unique in having been firstborn twice - by the work of God the Father and by the resurrection to immortality from the dead.

NT and OT: Messiah and Torah

“... a righteousness apart from Law ...” (Apostle Paul, Epistle to the Romans)

The Messiah taught Torah (Old Testament Law and teachings) keeping as a way to survive and live “Do this and you will live” He said. Then He taught selling all and following Him as a way to be made perfect. So maybe the righteousness Paul had in mind is not to simply live but to become perfect. This is not merely through Torah keeping but through faith and following the Messiah. He even taught that the focus is not so much on Torah as on faith and obedience coming from faith. He even taught it is available even to those who are not under the Torah - who are not bound to keeping it. So for a Jew to live there is Torah but for both Jew and Gentile to be made perfect there is a Messiah in whom to believe and then follow forsaking this world’s trappings.

The nature of this perfection is all there in the gospels: perfect elimination of fornication entails permamently ceasing to look lustfully at women; perfect elimination of satanic ways entails permanently ceasing from lying and from murdering and that ceasing from murdering entails ceasing from hateful thoughts that aren’t deserved. Perfect kindness entails kindness to not only friends but also extending to enemies who do you harm. So it is more perfect in degree beyond what Torah requires but also in permanence beyond what Torah requires - permanence after death eternally as well as before in this life. In Revelation there is more: ceasing from lying means all kinds of lying. The Epistles expand on it and start to introduce the means of this perfection which is becoming part of a mutually loving body all united in spirit and purpose and rebuking each other to perfect each other and washed from pollutng thoughts and attitudes by anointing of the Holy Spirit.

The disobedience gets knocked out of those who believe in Messiah to lead them into perfect righteousness. Eventually they obey perfectly. Those who are Jews who do not believe in this Messiah do well to obey Torah. Then they will live. But they will likely die in the sins they cannot help continually committing without Messiah to set them free.

The Usual Challenge to the Book of Enoch

Every now and then readers of the Book of Enoch get a challenge by people who use one of the sayings of Jesus Christ which they construe to mean Jesus might have denied Enoch’s ascension into heaven. I do not like to publicise this use of the verse but just to point out that there is another way to understand Jesus’ saying in the Gospel of John. Jesus frequently, as John recorded, emphasised the importance of His words as coming from someone well acquainted with God the Father since nobody else on earth at the time had come from Heaven. Once it is recorded that He used a phrase to say He alone had ascended into Heaven. The usual saying recorded is that He alone had come from Heaven. He usually spoke in the context of His immediate hearers and how things were to them. They would never hear Enoch speak on earth because Enoch was in Heaven. The only person they would hear testify who had both come from Heaven and at some time or times ascended into Heaven too was Jesus. Jesus was not denying the ascension of Enoch nor of Elijah. Colloquially He was speaking of those present on earth as He spoke and in that context only He out of all those present on Earth at that time had ascended into Heaven and come from Heaven. Daniel had written of Him being brought into the presence of God the Ancient of Days. Enoch had written about such occassions too. Both Daniel and Jesus alluded to the writings of Enoch and Jesus also alluded to the writings of Daniel. Be cautious how you understand the words of Jesus and how you regard the understandings others have of His words.

What Adam did

Adam was made perfectly but with a design that required God to be honoured in his life and he would only keep living if that was so. Adam erred because he started as a life choice to live a life that put God second and removed God as total master. This meant he could still continue to live but not perpetually. God had not made a mistake in making Adam that way. It was Adam who made the mistake to start down a road as if life could be lived without keeping always to what God told him. It could but not perpetually. He had not been designed that way. So death became inevitable.

What He Nailed to the Cross

He nailed to that cross the idea that Torah can save people because those who nailed Him there were keepers of Torah. He nailed mortality to that cross because when He died the next step was He rose and by this the resurrection immortality became available to others too. So the idea that mortality must be permanent was nailed to that cross. He nailed to the cross the possibility of anybody living forever without Him because those without Him will never become immortal like Him. He nailed to the cross the permanence of dominion of Torah because Torah is for the mortal and the resurrection leads to immortality dominated by Him instead.

Was there a Great Flood and if so, when?

The Book of Enoch seems to have been written centuries before a great destruction we call The Flood. It contains no records after such a flood but only predictions of it; numerous graphic predictions. It therefore seems to have been completed prior to any such cataclysmic catastrophe occurring; completed including any later editorial comments. So did such an event occur and if so, when? Archaeology has the answer. The Sumerian King Lists are records written by Sumerians after the flood which record that flood and record which kings reigned before it and which kings reigned after it. They record the cities from which they reigned. They notably highlight that the capital city at the time of the flood was Shurappak and the first capital city after the flood was Kish. So the city of Shuruppak in ancient Sumer (now in Iraq) is a focal point from which to see the archaeology of this flood recorded by the Sumerian King List. Does it show arcgaeological evidence of such a flood as is recorded in the Sumerian King Lists? There is a flood deposit layer in the archaeology of the site of the city, a site now called Tell Fara, and it coincides with the time and archaeological sequence of the flood recorded in the Sumerian King Lists (in agreement with the Book of Enoch and Genesis). The period before the time this flood layer was deposited is the Jamdet Nasr Period and early Fara Period. The archaeology above this flood layer is from the Early Dynastic Periods. So this is entirely consistent with the Sumerian King Lists. Archaeologists very cautiously describe this flood as a local river flood. Probably this is related to embarrasing claims made by early archaeologist of Sumerian archaeology, Sir Leonard Woolley, who jumped to conclude that a similar but probably older flood layer in the site of ancient Sumerian city Ur was the result of the Noah flood when later that was shown to be fallacious because it was from a much earlier flood and floods of Ur were frequent where it was situated by the rivers and oft changing Persian Gulf coastline. Yet the Tell Fara flood deposits are very likely to coincide with the flood written about in the Sumerian King Lists. So it appears from archaeology of the most historic extant text of the time and the archaeology of Tell Fara that a flood did occur when predicted in the Book of Enoch and around 2600 BC between the Jemdat Nasr Period and Early Dynastic Period. 

Have Faith in God

Growing up my mother taught me to pray and that God answers and always, always, always God did answer my prayers. My mother taught me the words of Jesus and read from a children’s bible to me and I always looked to follow Jesus. At a certain age I started to say to others the matter of following Jesus must include doing the miracles He teaches His followers to do - miracles like He does. A new phase was starting for me even while young. Later I went to university and attended a famous church and one Sunday the famous preacher spoke at length expounding the saying of Jesus “Have faith in God. If anyone says to this mountain ‘Move and plant yourself in the sea’ and does not doubt in his heart, it will be so. The Father will make it so”. That morning I had burnt my finger on the toaster and it had a bad blister and the pain was severe. I tried to listen to the preacher with my eyes closed to help me concentrate but I could not concentrate with the pain like it was. I knew this was a situation like Jesus had been addressing and I must tell the pain to go. I listened to the preacher preaching with sincere faith those words of Jesus and I obeyed. In the quiet of my thoughts I said to the severe pain “Go!”. My eyes stayed shut so I did not see what happened but the pain completely vanished. I carried on listening as the preacher preached at length and fought off fierce thoughts of what doubting worldly people might want to say - that the pain would come back. It didn’t. After the sermon I looked and the blister had gone. It never came back. I told the preacher afterwards and he glofified God saying the preaching of the words of Jesus faithfully must lead to such things. Nowadays I often enjoy watching him preaching such things on mainstream TV. God is so faithful. I learned over the following years to do more and more like that and did great things in exercising of this faith. I learned to use it to command storms and make them stop immediately - well God did the stopping and I just did the commanding. Once years later Jesus met me in a severe storm which was causing local flooding. I had a big golfing umbrella up as torrential rain poured down and He said into my mind “Put down your umbrella!”. It was with such authority so I immediately folder it down and as I did so the rain stopped so instantly that not a drop touched me. I knew this was Jesus but asked a sign that night to seek confirmation and He caringly did it. So I know He affirms His lesson on faith in God by practising it too and showing it is right.

Spiritual Things

After hearing tongues interpreted and hearing the characteristic way the Spirit of Truth speaks it makes me realise I’ve been hearing this in dreams since a child and it transcends intellectual logic the way the Spirit speaks in truth about nature being commanded and nature obeying. Even inanimate objects have a duty to obey what is commanded them in accordance with the authority and reputation and teachings of Jesus Christ. So too when we command nature in this name - it must obey if we are devoid of doubt as we give the command. So too we have a duty to obey and daily to ever keep obeying what is commanded us in this name. I need to let this heavenly spiritual logic sink into my inner being and build it in the ways of God.

The Pre-eminent Immortal Resurrection

What does it mean that Jesus is firstborn over all creation and the only-begotten Son of God? Firstly He is firstborn over all sons of God. Like any firstborn, they are born before any other sibling exists. The Son of Man was born before any of the angels so when He was born they did not exist and when they were born He already existed. He is firstborn of creation too which means when He was born none of creation existed and when creation was born He already existed. So He is over creation as firstborn over it because He existed before it existed because He was born first. He is firstborn from the dead because when He rose there was no immortal raised from the dead and when anyone else is raised to immortality He is already raised so He is over them as a firstborn. This I’m sure is what it means. A firstborn is greater due to preeminence and has a kind of superior rank while still being one of the siblings. That is the significance of being born first. John the baptist was born before Jesus physically, biologically but proclaimed that still Jesus is preeminent over him having existed before him. He knew. He, the Son of Man, is before all things and in Him all things hold together.

Since the Son of Man is always and always will be preeminent by preexistence, the resurrection to immortality of anyone could not happen until first it happened to Him. And now it has, so now it can.

Words from God

I notice how the command in the Law of Moses to love God is accompanied by commands to write out His words and put them around the house and teach them. This is a perfect way to exercise love for God. So I decided to write down words the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit has given me over that time of visitation in my life. Now I wrote them I notice they look so symmetrical and planned.

“I am God. Tomorrow at work a piece of paper with a list of names on it will be put in front of you. Look at it.”

“Put down your umbrella.”

“Consider the trees how they put out buds and leaves. They do so by the authority/power of the name of Lord Jesus Christ.”

“Israel has sinned”

The first was the Holy Spirit when I asked to receive Him.

The second was the Father when I asked to see Him (in a dream). It resulted in a lesson on loving my neighbours at work.

The third was Lord Jesus out in the pouring rain. The rain stopped as soon as I obeyed.

The fourth was the Holy Spirit in church through tongues and interpretation.

The fifth was a word of the LORD that came to me as a prophecy with a sign.

I wrote them on a whiteboard in my bedroom so I see them every night. They so encourage me and warm my heart towards God.

“Let him who has a dream tell his dream but let him who has the word of the LORD proclaim it.”

“What is whispered in your ear shout from the rooftops.”

Be not afraid

Many seem to be too afraid to read the Book of Enoch. They love praise from their fellow men rather than setting their hearts on the “Well done good and faithful servant” that God and Christ can give. The Holy Spirit reminds those who hear Him how good praise from God can be. There will be a day “when the saints come marching in” and we should long to be among that crowd. There will be a ceremony when the myriad or myriads stand side by side in a ceremonial line all eyes ahead as the Lord of Glory walks down the line and surveys His willing troops and honours those who served Him well. There will be praise that really counts. Seek to be there in that ceremony of those who served Him willingly and readily in this life. Ignore the condemnation of those who want to stop you reading the Book of Enoch. Read it and live and jump for joy to the glory of the Son of Man.

The Sola Scriptura Fallacy

There is a teaching practiced by many protestants called sola scriptura. This is where only scripture (only books of scripture in the protestant main canon, ignoring the apocrypha) is allowed to contribute to doctrines that pertain to eternal life. It has a problem of being what is called self-referentially incoherent which is to say that it in itself does not come from scripture. However it is widely practiced such that many protestants will not accept doctrines important to eternal life unless they come from scriptures in their canon of scripture. Yet when it comes to understanding certain scriptures this causes a dead-lock because there are scriptures which cannot be understood correctly without sources outside the protestant canon. One example is the Nephilim of Genesis 6 and other books of Moses. Here is where you need to go outside of protestant canon books to find out who were the sons of God from whom descended the giants, the Nephilim. The Nephilim are also called sons of Anak or Anakim in canonised scripture of the Hebrew Bible. Understanding what that means requires a trip into Sumerian literature and the Book of Enoch. The Sumerians from whom Noah descended, and Noah’s own descendants, they were taught by Noah and Enoch to call the top angels “sons of God” or Anunnaki in their language. So when they were then told that the giants who terrorised the world centuries before the Flood were offspring of these Anunnaki the term sons of sons of God might have been coined and maybe the term “sons of Anak” or Anakim later used came into Hebrew from the Sumerian and Akkadian for sons of the Anunnaki (sons of sons of God).

Who are the sons of God and the only-begotten Son of God?

Who are the sons of God? This is one of the oldest terms in the most ancient scriptures that is indicative of links to our Sumerian past. Genesis 6. Job. Enoch. They mainly used the term to refer to top archangels and sometimes to slightly lesser angels. This shows a link to Sumerian literature that uses the term quite well known today for sons of God - sons of An - the Anunnaki. There are seven topmost archangels and we know them by name, especially the top four. Then there were angels who fell - also known by name. But none of these are singled out by God as being His only-begptten sons. The Son of Man is the one God calls His one son - more His son than any angel - more than even the topmost angels. “Anunnaki” could apply to the seven, as Sumerian writings say Noah taught. The top are sons of God. This is evident in Job. The top angels came together to form the court of God and Satan sometimes joined in too. The Genesis 6 passage calls lesser angels sons of God too - some became fallen angels. This ties in with most ancient Sumerian writings that say many Anunnaki are in the underworld. Inunna stories include this detail. So top and lesser angels are called sons of God both in holy most ancient scripture and less holy ancient writings which provide evidence main holy Sumerian most ancient teachers like Enoch and Noah were teaching these things. In the Book of Enoch God Himself only once calls anyone “My Son” and that is in chapter 105. He clearly meant the Son of Man, His Anointed One. 

“1. In those days the Lord bade (them) to summon and testify to the children of earth concerning their wisdom: Show (it) unto them; for ye are their guides, and a recompense over the whole earth. 2. For I and My son will be united with them for ever in the paths of uprightness in their lives; and ye shall have peace: rejoice, ye children of uprightness. Amen.”

KUR-GAL

KUR-GAL

The Sumerian people of Enoch’s time had a word KUR.GAL which meant “Great Land” but also Great Mountain and KUR itself could mean the Underworld. The Book of Enoch contains descriptions of a huge throne room of God like a massive crystal cave and describes other huge caverns with smooth walls below a great mountain where the spirits of the dead reside. It leads to the possibility that both the Underworld and the throne of God are under the same high mountain, the place of God’s throne in one of two connected caverns - a chamber and an antechamber - higher up than the four chambers of the Underworld. The Book of Revelation speaks of spirits or souls “beneath the throne” and it might be that they are in one of the underworld caverns literally some way down beneath the throne cavern. Which mountain? Enoch describes it being a very high mountain. Traditions and other Sumerian texts hint at it being in the Zagros range in Iran. The word in Persian (Farsi, language of Iran) for mountain is the word used for Underworld in Sumerian texts, Kur. So this shows there is a historic link and mountains in the great Zagros range are called Kur as are some place names. The highest mountain in the Zagros is the highest in all the Middle East, Mount Damavand https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Damavand . Could this be location of God’s heavenly place and of the Underworld too? Ancient traditions support this possibility, either regarding Damavand or the range of mountains around it.

Immortal Beings

IMMORTAL BEINGS

The Book of Enoch is enlightening (indirectly) in how kind God was to keep Adam away from the Tree of Life. Look at Azazel and other fallen angels whose punishment as immortal beings was so grim that Michael objected bitterly: they could not be killed so they were buried alive for thousands of years until a special volcanic chasm will be their eternal home. Adam was lucky to die. To be eternal can be a curse if you are wicked in God’s eyes. Eternal immortality is only a blessing if the Son of Man keeps you righteous throughout your eternity.

The Name and Reputation

The name/reputation of YHWH is that He is the compassionate and gracious God. What then is the name/reputation of the Son of Man? I suggest it is that He is Yeshua, YHWY’s anointed one of righteousness and faith, the Lord through whom YHWH saves His people from their sins. That is surely His name/reputation.

Two Teachings Two Ways

The teachings of the Torah are older than the teachings of the Kingdom of Heaven. The Son taught both. He taught that a teacher of Torah who is also instructed in the Kingdom of God teachings is like a man who brings out new treasures as well as old. And many prove the Son right when they say the old is better. But the way of the dominion of the Holy Spirit is the way to subdue the desires of the flesh in a way the Torah cannot achieve.

Baptism

Baptism is like joining a university. If you join a university and you say you “are concerned about the name the university has” you mean is it on a par with Harvard or Princeton or Oxford; you do not mean what name it is called - if you got in to a top university you would not care much if it changed its name - but if it dropped fifty places in the world rankings and was found to be fraudulently selling degrees on the black market then you would certainly care. Baptism is not about what words are used but about the ratings and reputation into which you are being baptised - and to which it will make you attached as a disciple.

In the Now

If you believe the Son of Man is there right now to save you, always now, never not there, you surely have to apply that forwards to every future now. If every future now - yesterday and today and forever - then every past now too. Even Abraham’s many nows. Noah’s hundreds of years of nows. Every now Enoch had and has. Every one of these nows is a now when the Son of Man is there to save.

Ubara-Tutu

UBARA-TUTU

Quote from Wikipedia:

“The Sumerian King List mentions a character named Ubara-Tutu who seems almost identical to Methuselah. He was the son of En-men-dur-ana the Sumerian Enoch, and king of Sumer until the flood swept over the land. The Sumerian King List is a document of kings of Sumer before and after the Flood and several extant (original cuneiform tablets from the Sumerian times) texts of such lists have been found.

Ubara-Tutu is also mentioned in the very old extant text from before the Flood found by archaeologists in sites of Sumer - ‘The Instructions of Sharappak’ which also mentions that his grandson was Ziusudra, Sumerian Noah. This fully identifies Ubara-Tutu as the grandfather of Noah, Methuselah. It further supports that Enmendurana is Enoch the father of Methuselah. In the Book of Enoch all three are given as its co-authors. It also verifies the true time when the Book of Enoch was originally authored and ties it historically to the time when the Instructions of Sharappak was written, before during the Fara Period, before the Flood, possibly completed before 2800 BC.

Why the Cross?

WHY THE CROSS?

God wanted to make a perfect sacrifice for the sins of those He loves (you). The cross symbolises that the Lamb is the Lamb of God. The ancient symbol for God started as a star but after a thousand years it became a cuneiform cross.

Jesus Today

It is very similar to our bodies but it never dies. If you were to put your hand on Him it would be like puttng a hand on anyone else - any human. If His hand was laid on you it would be like anybody’s hand placed on you. Yet His coming will be like lightning from one end of the sky to the other such that everyone sees Him at once. He can have spiritual presence just as He can have physical presence. We too can be like this a bit so it is not completely unimaginable. We are currently commnicating simultaneously around the world yet we are sitting in a room maybe. We can do spiritual things too like having simultaneously imspired thoughts in distant places such that our distance apart is irrelevant and our existence is more the main thing and our being in the spirit at the same time can be all important to what happens between us yet we are humans in physical bodies too. When He chooses to He can affect us physically or spiritually or mentally without leaving Heaven. He can exist in Heaven out of reach of humans like us along with angels and like an angel. His faith can work a miracle where we walk down a steet as if He were in the clouds above our heads without leaving the Father’s side.

Who is the Son of Man?

Who is the Son of Man? Many would answer “Jesus” but what does saying it is Jesus say about Jesus? Here are two answers given in the Book of Enoch.

Enoch 71:

...

'This is the Son of Man who is born unto righteousness;

And righteousness abides over him,

And the righteousness of the Head of Days forsakes him not.'

And he said unto me:

'He proclaims unto thee peace in the name of the world to come;

For from hence has proceeded peace since the creation of the world,

And so shall it be unto thee for ever and for ever and ever.

And all shall walk in his ways since righteousness never forsaketh him:

With him will be their dwelling-places, and with him their heritage,

And they shall not be separated from him for ever and ever and ever.

And so there shall be length of days with that Son of Man,

And the righteous shall have peace and an upright way

In the name of the Lord of Spirits for ever and ever.'

Enoch 46:

This is the son of Man who hath righteousness,

With whom dwelleth righteousness,

And who revealeth all the treasures of that which is hidden,

Because the Lord of Spirits hath chosen him,

And whose lot hath the pre-eminence before the Lord of Spirits in uprightness for ever.

And this Son of Man whom thou hast seen

Shall †raise up† the kings and the mighty from their seats,

[And the strong from their thrones]

And shall loosen the reins of the strong,

And break the teeth of the sinners.

[And he shall put down the kings from their thrones and kingdoms]

Because they do not extol and praise Him,

Nor humbly acknowledge whence the kingdom was bestowed upon them.

And he shall put down the countenance of the strong,

And shall fill them with shame.

And darkness shall be their dwelling,

And worms shall be their bed,

And they shall have no hope of rising from their beds,

Because they do not extol the name of the Lord of Spirits.

And these are they who †judge† the stars of heaven,

[And raise their hands against the Most High],

†And tread upon the earth and dwell upon it†.

And all their deeds manifest unrighteousness,

And their power rests upon their riches, 

And their faith is in the †gods† which they have made with their hands,

And they deny the name of the Lord of Spirits,

And they persecute the houses of His congregations,

And the faithful who hang upon the name of the Lord of Spirits.

Drugs and Chemistry

The Book of Enoch shows how chemistry and drug production and trade have a main wicked purpose of extending human abilities to give humans ungodly power to harness nature without the need for faith and collaboration with God. These ideaologies are still the bedrock of modern science. Three hundred years ago attempts were made starting with King James and others to eradicate witchcraft in the western world and witch hunts and witch trials frightened scientists into hiding the supernatural aspects of science and all of their links to witchcraft but really the sorceries that developed into modern sciences with the ungodly purposes of extending human capabilities without involving God and faith in God are all there still in science but hushed up. The outcomes are abortions and other mass exterminations and modern conveniences with which the world today is riddled.

Heavenly Places

HEAVENLY PLACES

Book of Enoch refers to the place where angels and God and the Son of Man dwell and have the throne of God they refer to a place where fire is underfoot and between the crystals of the walls and flows as a river of fire. The descriptions match caverns such as the Cave of Crystals in Mexico https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave_of_the_Crystals but before the magma disappeared and so the mountain in question must have such caverns within it. These Cave of Crystals magma chambers were not at all accessible from outside until mining shafts were accidentally drilled into them. There must be many such caverns in many moumtains aroond the world. The descriptions in the Book of Enoch would be entirely consistent with some such caverns. These places originally huge chambers full of water and become lined with extremely large crystals which are thought to form on the walls and floor and ceiling as water seeps into the chamber bring into it sulphur and when magma heats the water the sulphur and other minerals are concentrated next to the chamber surfaces. If the heat of the magma drives away the water completely through gaps in the rocky walls the huge chamber lined with crystals and magma. These chambers are potentially extremely hot and potentially very humid because they are heated by the magma and there is no way for the heat to escape. The magma might flow around the floor too. Enoch described the pair of two chambers linked by a portal and these chambers were very both hot very cold and lined with crystals mingled with fire and with a river of fire and the crystal throne of God there in the middle and a huge expanse above it. In one of the crystal chambers he saw God and cherubim and other kinds of angels and that the archangels the Son of Man entered it. 

The Book of Enoch has two passages about these places - in the R H Charles translation they are chapters 14 and 71. 

Book of Enoch chapter 14: 

9. And I went in till I drew nigh to a wall which is built of crystals and surrounded by tongues of fire: and it began to affright me. And I went into the tongues of fire and drew nigh to a large house which was built of crystals: and the walls of the house were like a tesselated floor (made) of crystals, and its groundwork was of crystal. 11. Its ceiling was like the path of the stars and the lightnings, and between them were fiery cherubim, and their heaven was (clear as) water. 12. A flaming fire surrounded the walls, and its portals blazed with fire. 13. And I entered into that house, and it was hot as fire and cold as ice: there were no delights of life therein: fear covered me, and trembling got hold upon me. 14. And as I quaked and trembled, I fell upon my face. 15. And I beheld a vision, And lo! there was a second house, greater than the former, 

and the entire portal stood open before me, and it was built of flames of fire. 16. And in every respect it so excelled in splendour and magnificence and extent that I cannot describe to you its splendour and its extent. 17. And its floor was of fire, and above it were lightnings and the path of the stars, and its ceiling also was flaming fire. 18. And I looked and saw ⌈⌈therein⌉⌉ a lofty throne: its appearance was as crystal, and the wheels thereof as the shining sun, and there was the vision of cherubim. 19. And from underneath the throne came streams of flaming fire so that I could not look thereon. 20. And the Great Glory sat thereon, and His raiment shone more brightly than the sun and was whiter than any snow. 21. None of the angels could enter and could behold His face by reason of the magnificence and glory and no flesh could behold Him. 22. The flaming fire was round about Him, and a great fire stood before Him, and none around could draw nigh Him: ten thousand times ten thousand (stood) before Him, yet He needed no counselor. 23. And the most holy ones who were nigh to Him did not leave by night nor depart from Him. 

The Book of Enoch chapter 71: 

1. And it came to pass after this that my spirit was translated

And it ascended into the heavens:

And I saw the holy sons of God.

They were stepping on flames of fire:

Their garments were white [and their raiment],

And their faces shone like snow.

2. And I saw two streams of fire,

And the light of that fire shone like hyacinth,

And I fell on my face before the Lord of Spirits.

3. And the angel Michael [one of the archangels] seized me by my right hand,

And lifted me up and led me forth into all the secrets,

And he showed me all the secrets of righteousness.

4. And he showed me all the secrets of the ends of the heaven,

And all the chambers of all the stars, and all the luminaries,

Whence they proceed before the face of the holy ones.

5. And he translated my spirit into the heaven of heavens,

And I saw there as it were a structure built of crystals,

And between those crystals tongues of living fire.

6. And my spirit saw the girdle which girt that house of fire,

And on its four sides were streams full of living fire,

And they girt that house.

7. And round about were Seraphin, Cherubic, and Ophannin:

And these are they who sleep not

And guard the throne of His glory.

8. And I saw angels who could not be counted,

A thousand thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand,

Encircling that house.
