To the Puritan, God is not allowed to “do a new thing”. It has to be biblical. That means it has to have been done in such a way that the Bible recorded it. That means Puritans can do without anything new. It is all there in the KJB Puritan Bible. Puritans insist they must rule. It is how they escape control by Rome, but how they justify rejecting anyone sent by Jesus Christ. There is no room in Puritan ideology for revelation, even if it comes from Jesus Christ or anyone he sends. “We will not have this man to be king over us.” So here we are, facing wrath. Lots of groups are rooted in the Puritan faith and live the Puritan way, even embedding it into national charters, documents, constitutions, bills. No room for Christ. Only room for the Puritan KJB. No room for God to do a new thing. No room for any Revelation.
