What?! Tribulations with no rapture until the end?! All of us who learned to think of ourselves as the saints we thought would be removed, we should ask how we could have got it so wrong. It should show us that God let us go wrong. This should show us that God is not so much into us as we thought. We should learn from the lesson Jesus gave about the Pharisee and tax collector at prayer. God listened to the tax collector humbly earnestly asking for mercy, confessing himself the sinner. God did not listen to the prayer of the Pharisee boasting of his own self-ascribed righteousness. Puritanism has resulted in ‘churches’ full of Pharisees. We need to learn to be like that tax collector. Then God might save us from ourselves.
