How did Jesus, a human, know what to teach, and know what teachings would lead humans towards a life that can be lived forever, even despite human mortality? It was by his deep knowledge of God the Father. The Father taught Jesus Christ. The Father opened Jesus Christ’s mind to insights of what pleased Him, and what is needed to make a human being, you and me, worthy of living forever. A human can die, but God can raise the dead. Even if a human is alive when Jesus returns, they can be made immortal without the need to die. Normally we would live unworthy lives, tainted by the kinds of things humans tend to do. So we die and then face judgement day. But Jesus knew how to teach us to live better and die better, so we have hope of better, even though we still face that judgement day. The Father opened his mind to what to teach and how to teach it. Jesus truly knew the Father. Jesus knows Him still, having died on a cross for sins in obedience to the Father, and having been raised from the dead by the Father just a few days later, and now living forever by the Father’s power. So the teachings Jesus has left for all humanity are there to point out for us the path to living the way of eternal life, with hope beyond death. And it is quite simple. Lies must go. Murderous intent must go. Adultery must go. No room for stealing but providing for needs of ourselves, and family, and the needy, by work. That is a start, keeping it simple, focussing on the main things first. Loving one another, speaking truthfully to one another, having unity with one another by the bind of receiving the same Holy Spirit as a sealing mark on us, learning to control anger, and working instead of stealing, this takes over, when we learn this way. It all opens up a path to more saintly living than we would otherwise live, and this opens up a better hope, in believing. It lays the way to be loving towards the Father and towards Jesus His Son which is the basis of obeying these teachings. It leads to being those worthy to be children of God. In turn it leads to being those Jesus will raise from the dead, or if still alive at his coming, transform into immortal human beings like himself. It leads then to eternal closeness to God and His Son, and fellowship with all those who learn to live this same way. But we must keep these teachings and not run ahead of them. This keeps us in fellowship with Father and with Son. And the blood of Jesus shed on the cross is the cleansing from our sins that we need to stay in fellowship with God, covered by the intercessions of Jesus with God on our behalf. Then God keeps giving us life in answer to prayers of Jesus and of one another.
