"He will save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21)
This is the promise spoken about Jesus—even before he was born.
But notice: it says his people.
He saves his people from their sins.
So the question becomes: Are you one of his people?
Jesus himself tells us how to be:
Become his disciple.
Believe in him. Trust that he died for your sins and rose again.
Then, hold to his teachings. Live by his words. Remain in them.
By becoming his disciple, you become his.
And once you are his, he will do what he came to do:
He will save you from your sins.
