The kind of faith that leads to salvation from sins
is not mere belief in name only.
It is faith in Christ that leads you to hold to his teachings—
and to the teachings of the Holy Spirit given in his name.
It is a faith that moves you to practise what he taught,
so that you truly become one of his own: his disciple.
This is the faith that saves—
because Jesus saves his disciples from their sins
through the knowledge of the truth:
from his own teachings, from the teachings of his apostles and servants,
and through the Spirit of truth given in his name.
