Their unity is rooted in a shared hope found in the message, “Christ died for you.”This hope leads them to confess their sins, turn from them, and be filled with the Holy Spirit. In this, God's will is done on earth—in their hearts—as it is in heaven; this is His kingdom.
The Lord’s Supper unites Christ’s disciples and manifests the truth that Jesus died on the cross as the Lamb of God, bearing their sins and the sins of the world. It establishes the foundation of Christ’s sacrificial death, through which we can understand His resurrection and that he now lives forever. All of this is to the glory of God, who sent Him.
