Example of the mediator

The Book of Revelation provides a striking example of Jesus’ role as mediator, particularly in revealing the future. The visions given to John were not shown to him directly by God but were first revealed to Jesus, who then conveyed them to His followers in a way they could grasp. This aligns with the pattern seen throughout scripture—God entrusting Jesus with divine knowledge, which He then presents in a way that is more accessible to humanity. The imagery of Revelation is often intense and terrifying, filled with apocalyptic symbols of judgment and renewal. Yet, rather than overwhelming believers with direct divine revelation, Jesus, as the mediator, translated these mysteries into visions, parables, and messages of hope and perseverance. This ensured that even as Revelation warned of trials to come, it also reassured believers that God’s plan was ultimately one of justice and redemption. Without Jesus’ mediation, the full weight of such revelations might have been too much for human minds to bear.
