Jesus spoke of the Father as the one true God. The “only true God” is not a statement of other gods being false. It is saying that one god is source of the authority of all gods and without this one true God there could be no other gods and this one true God will still be source of god authority right to the end without end. He had it before any other existed. Alpha and Omega. Jesus has godness, divinity, only because the one true God, the Father, gives it to him, and eventually Jesus will have all things made subject to him by this one true God, and then he will subject himself together with everything under him to the one true God forever. Then the one true God will be all in all. All godness, divinity, will be His. King above all gods.
