God has set Jesus above his companions

In Revelation and other scriptures we see God giving Jesus godlike status in relation to other humans. It is not his status in relation to his humanity. When we think of one human in relation to other humans, we might recognise that a human can be above others when God gives them something that sets then above their companions. This we might say makes them a god to the others. But it does not make them any less human. Such a God-given eminence does not make them more of a god than a human. It merely makes them more of a god than their companions. We see this is scripture regarding Jesus Christ. This is important because it leaves it open to us to find ourselves given eminence too: if we overcome. In Revelation Jesus promises those who overcome that he will give them to sit with him on his throne just as he sits with the Father on His throne.
