Taking action

Many pastors today teach doctrines shaped by human traditions rather than the actual teachings of Jesus Christ. They may emphasize man-made theological ideas—such as exalting Jesus above the Father or blending the gospel with nationalism—rather than faithfully preaching what Jesus Himself taught. This is why 2 John 10 warns against welcoming those who do not bring the true doctrine of Christ.

To follow Jesus means to remain in His words, not in later distortions that serve worldly power. If a pastor does not uphold Jesus’ actual teachings—such as His humble submission to the Father and His call to love, obedience, and truth—then they are not truly representing Him. Supporting such teachers can lead to further deception, as their influence spreads ideas that move people away from the original gospel.

Instead, believers should seek out those who remain faithful to Jesus' words and the true relationship He revealed between Himself and the Father. Welcoming only those who teach His truth is not an act of division but an act of faithfulness, ensuring that the church remains grounded in what Jesus actually taught, rather than in doctrines crafted to serve human agendas.
