The Christ sets free by truth those who believe he, Jesus, is the light of the world sent by the Father AND who therefore, by this belief, hold to his teachings and in his name follow the lead of the Holy Spirit. They are freed from the enslavement of sin and, where necessary, from the law of Moses which is what empowers the hold of sin, because it is weakened by the flesh. On persuasion of faith, they are baptised into the living Jesus who was once under this law too but died and rose again immortal and is therefore freed from it since it only held power over him until his death. By this they unite with him who is freed from the law and so they too are free. Only those remain under the law of Moses who are born under it and are still outside of the one body of Christ, or if they have been circumcised into the law.
