I think it is good to raise our children directly on scriptures rather than letting churches teach them denominational doctrines first. I learned scriptures first in early childhood and then heard doctrinal teachings later in older childhood and adulthood. I believe it kept me flexible and open to the possibility of doctrines perhaps being wrong or too rigid. Perhaps this allows me to accept new things from the Holy Spirit, while churches almost without exception are unable to fit true, heavenly, new revelations in with their existing rigid doctrinal limitations. Jesus made a point of choosing as his disciples those who would be flexible, to accept new things. New wineskins for new wine. Flexible, where old wineskins break from new still slightly fermenting wine.
